Michael O’Baldrick has come up with a cunning plan. Where the word “Max” appears on the aircraft it will be followed by the surname of a well known person to disguise it, such as Max Bygraves, Max Hastings or will otherwise be adjusted for example Karl MArX. Either that or “Boeing 737 Max” will be roughly painted over and “Airbus A321” scrawled in its place. The flying public will never know!

Isn't that the most bullshi**ed PR exercise by Ryanair? As you've said @Len Fish all allocations are doing weeks if not months in advance due to long term MX. I believe the allocation of each aircraft to certain routes is done the night before - from an operational perspective (swap aircraft a with b as its better suited for the allocated routes) but the allocations to each base etc is defo defo done months in advance.

To take the example of Jet2, flight crew rosters are produced some weeks in advance and show not only the type of aircraft but the registration of the actual machine to be used, which only changes due to unforeseen circumstances. As usual, O’Weary is talking out of his arm.

I always thought that the name 737 MAX was poor in any case. In suggests that this model is one whereby Boeing have taken that airframe as far as they can, and there will be no further variants of the 737 in the future. Maybe that is the case, and maybe it isn't. Given the problems Boeing have at the moment I would think that the cost of developing anything in the future that is based on a completely different airframe might now be prohibitive and they may need to do further developments on the 737. For me it should always have just been called a 737 900, or if that has been used already (and I was asleep at the time) the 737 1000. Why change from a numeric system that they have used for decades?

LBA is sadly going to be a lot quiet next summer which will please the climate change nimby's

Ryanair are making further cut backs to summer 2020 schedule. The LBA based operation will be down to just 1x Boeing 737-800 due to the 737-MAX problems. The situation we now find ourselves in is worst than when Ryanair originally set up the LBA based operation.

Tenerife, Vilnius, Corfu, Riga & Bratislava routes have all being axe now while further flight frequency reductions have been made to routes including Malaga & Dublin.
Meanwhile Gerona-Barcelona route is reinstated at 2x weekly.
