For the new "normal" to be not too bad, a lot more people need to have your approach to it.

Just to give you an update on my experience of the Ryanair position. I fly LBA/AGP predominantly with Ryanair around a dozen times a year Plus holiday flights elsewhere. As the Covid situation unfolded I was able to comfortably return with Ryanair and had flights booked again in March with Jet 2 and then a further return flight with Ryanair in early April. Jet 2 cancelled and refunded in around 18 days. Thank you. Ryanair emailed several times; flight cancelled you’ll get and we are processing a refund, we are still processing your refund twice, we are not processing your refund now here’s a voucher to use for 12 months if you insist on a refund you’ll go in a queue and it will be processed when the situation is over and the final email - we sent you a voucher, if you don’t use it in the next 12 months you can have a refund then, please confirm you have a voucher.
There are now reports of the banks dragging their feet on credit card refunds for cancellations, despite the fact there’s a legal requirement to pay up. It seems the consumer just can’t win.
Seriously bad news if this happens to Ryanair generally and LBA specifically.Ryanair have just announced this moring its looking to slash up to 3000 jobs of which will mainly be flight crew and possibly closing bases throughout Europe including here in the UK. I guess the LBA base maybe in the firing line what with them already cutting back substantially in past 6 months.
It's is also said to be in talks with US based aircraft manufacture Boeing to further delay deliveries of it new fleet of 737-MAX aircraft.

Coronavirus: Ryanair to slash up to 3,000 jobs over COVID-19 crisis
The airline hits out at the state bailout of competitors, including Lufthansa and Air France, branding it "financial doping".news.sky.com
Not looking good for Lba at all is it ?
Just had a text through from Ryanair cancelling my parents 18th may flight. says that they can change there flight or get a refund, this will be processed within 20 days back to the form of payment used for original booking. Are they just making that up because that's not what im hearing from the media and other customers?
Also to note Ryanair is the only airline where bad news is good news! If you look at all ryanairs history they must be the only company where they actually increase passenger loads and make mass profits through negative news, MOL comments and wide spread dodgy media coverage and at the end of the day if their loads were lower then they just drop their fares for abit and hey loads will be up again!A further point to note was MOL did indeed say he expected a full recovery to pre covid passenger levels but he thought it would take two years.
