Both Pisa and Malta are Malta Air routes so will probably appear later.Only routes not showing on sale via the Ryanair App for summer 2022 are Ibiza, Pisa & Malta.
"Ryanair is committed to the UK and to Leeds-Bradford airport"
Its all down to infrastructure again im afraid, we see it time after time with airlines not been able to expand at LBA to their full potential because of this issue. Through speaking to a jet2 engineer i can tell you all on here now that they will be very little growth from jet2 at LBA in the near future until the terminal and apron space is sorted out! It’s good news regarding the base continuation however, once again I feel disappointed with the offering.
BHX got 6 new routes 5 of which would work well from LBA.
NCL with a new base could well overtake LBA in size even though LBA has been around nearly a decade.
Small steps I suppose but I hoped for at least 3 based a/c tbh.

Absolutely and if anything I think we will see more and more flight operating into the UK from European bases as Ryanair in particular likes to capitalise on the extensive cheap labour base the European Union can offer.Regarding Ryanair and based aircraft, they are one of the only airlines where "based aircraft" doesn't really matter, nor does it affect the number of routes and flights flown. This is due to the sheer number of bases they have around Europe and therefore the number of flights that can be operated from other bases. This is unlike Jet2 for example, where nearly all (if not all) departures are flown using based aircraft, and therefore the more aircraft based, the more flights there will be.
For example, this summer,
BHX - 4x based RYR aircraft - 113x weekly departures
EMA - 7-8x based RYR aircraft - 117x weekly departures
As you can see, BHX managed nearly the same number of departures in a week with half the number of aircraft based.
BRS for example has only 4x aircraft based, yet nearly 50% of RYR departures are using aircraft based at another airport.
If RYR want to operate more flights to LBA, then they can do so by using away based aircraft at non-peak times (like mid-morning when all the Jet2 aircraft have departed)
And LPL is next door to MAN, come on LBA!Ryanair have announced five new routes from Liverpool
