Nothing like putting a spanner in the works, is the..

I guess they could still end up sending either EI-EFG to Dublin after it's arrived from Krakow or EI-ENH after it's arrived from Alicante.
Or they could even position EI-DLV back empty from Liverpool to operate the flight to Dublin.
It's shown as coming back from LPL at 2122 on FR24 (FR410). LBA now showing Overcast replacing Fog.

Further complication, EI-DLV which was inbound from Wroclaw has gone around and due to not being able to make a CAT3 approach is now diverting to Liverpool. Tis is the aircraft which was due to operate to Dublin for the swap with the MAX.
Why couldnt it make a Cat 3 approach?

How does that work with their scheduling? Any idea why? I wonder if this is linked to LBAs need to reduce night time movements?

Nothing to do with the night time flight limits at LBA, As far as I understand it's all down to late aircraft deliveries from Boeing of the 737-MAX8-200's.

It's planned to be 2x based aircraft (1x Boeing 737-800 & 1x Boeing 737-MAX8-200) until May 31st operating 73+ weekly flights on 17+ routes: Perpignan, Dublin, Gdansk, Krakow, Poznan, Warsaw Modlin, Wroclaw, Faro, Porto, Bratislava, Alicante, Fuerteventura, Ibiza, Arrecife, Malaga, Palma & Tenerife South.

From June 1st until end of October it's 3x based aircraft (2x Boeing 737-800 & 1x Boeing 737-MAX8-200) operating 99+ weekly flights on 24+ routes. Zadar, Limoges, Paris Beauvais, Perpignan, Dublin, Riga, Gdansk, Krakow, Poznan, Warsaw Modlin, Wroclaw, Faro, Porto, Bratislava, Alicante, Girona, Reus, Fuerteventura, Ibiza, Arrecife, Malaga, Palma & Tenerife South.

Is that as originally planned then, or have some flights been lost because of this?

Originally no, as some early season flights were lost, but extra flights have since been added sduring peak to make up for the loss.

Thats a lot of people with disrupted/cancelled travel plans.

Not really, as I seem to remember the changes were made way back just after summer 2023 went on sale. To be fair Ryanair have given plenty of time for all affected passengers to make amendments.

Perpignan: 114/189 (60.3%), 18/189 (9.5%)
Porto: 181/197 (91.9%), 54/189 (27.4%)

Hopefully plenty of Catalan Rugby games up and coming to get the PGF full with good yields
Apart from RL fans, I would think that Perpignan is likely to be more popular in the summer months, whereas Porto is likely to be an attractive place to visit all year round if they chose to do that. It's further South for starters so already warm enough for a holiday. The outbound first load tends to show that..

Just had a look at when Catalan are playing home games. These games seem to be always on Saturday’s which fit into Ryanair’s Thu & Sun schedules perfectly. On some dates in the summer the flights are already 80-90% booked with return basic fares between £350-450.

I wonder if some of the teams have block bookings with Ryanair? Would it be cheaper than chartering a Loganair EMB145 or Jet2 737?

I wouldn’t expect so, teams don’t tend to rely on a scheduled service, especially ones that operate two times a week.

Sports teams usually make bookings well in advance through specialist brokers who in turn charter an aircraft to take the team to and from the destination.

Catalan Dragons flew in to Leeds on a scheduled Jet 2 service on Friday for the Saturday game against the rhinos. They even ordered taxis from the airport to the hotel. There was no chartered aircraft for them on this occassion.

Last year when Leeds played Catalan in the play off fixture they only had a 4 day turnaround and apparently the Jet 2 charter cost them £80,000 so not cheap. Supplemented by travelling fans and the RFL if softened the costs.

So how did they get back?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
