Apparently, Ryanair are to commence flying from Paris Orly from April. I can't help wondering if this will, eventually, lead to a transfer of services from Beauvais to Orly, which is nearer to Paris itself and the starting point for many flights to the French Caribbean too.

From an LBA perspective, Ryanair to Orly in competition with Jet2 and/or easyJet to CDG would be interesting, if unlikely.

And now, Ryanair have scrapped plans to start ops from Paris Orly.

So Paris Beauvais is safe for now.

Just had a text message from my friend who is being held on board tonights FR2504 from Faro whilst Police arrive to arrest and escort a disrupted female passenger off the flight. Apparently was abusive to airline staff and caused disruption to other passengers during the flight.

Difficult to tell whether behaviour on board is getting increasingly worse or whether it’s just that these incidents get reported more now in the media. Given the number of flights I suppose in the overall scheme of things these things are relatively rare.

I would say it’s both because on average I was writing safety reports/offloads report because of behaviour at least twice a month, in the summer it was lot more due to the destinations flown to e.g Ibiza, Palma etc. which often resulted in the passengers being banned.

Last year we had 108x weekly flights during peak, this year it will be 113x weekly flights peak
The figures should be boosted during April & May as we don’t lose one of our based aircraft like we have had in last couple of years.

But the down side is we only 1x based Boeing 737-MAX8-200 compared to the 2 we had last year. This is slightly compensated by more MAX’s coming in from other bases compared to last year.
