Ryanair have, albeit very late, added another Palma flight for this Summer 2012 from Leeds Bradford operating in August only to be operated by a Palma based B737-800 aircraft:

Arrives LBA - 19:45 - FR2326
Departs LBA - 20:10 - FR2326

7 flights a week to PMI with Ryanair! :good:

Just come back from Barcelona.

It was interesting to see that Ryanair to Leeds was pretty much full.

Also, the departure gate only said 'LEEDS', no mention of Bradford......

Most places just say Leeds these days even in Islamabad where they called it Bradford airport at the start.

Did you fly back into Leeds with Ryanair?

No. I wanted to try Ryanair however, so booked LPL-BCN-LPL.

I'd say at a rough guess, there were 150-ish on the LBA, and with 2 rows blocked out, making 177 seats, thats not a bad load.

LPL however, was pretty much full both ways. (id say 175-1`76-ish.)

Impressive.

When we flew out from BCN to Leeds other month with jet2 it said Leeds Bradford, so I think it may depend on the airline as there was also a Ryanair flight to Leeds due an house after us and it just said Leeds.

Route cuts

Barcelona El Prat has been cut for the winter according to the Ryanair websites. Ryanair say it's because of the doubling of the Spanish departure tax.

Flights have been cut from both Leeds Bradford & East Midlands.

Hasnt Manchester also been chopped for the winter?

Yep a Little, MAN will go from 4x based aircraft down to a 2x based aircraft this winter and the airline has dropped its Gerona-Barcelona & Madrid services from the airport.

Don't quite understand why all 3x airlines that currently serve the Manchester-Madrid route (Easyjet, Iberia & ryanair) are all quitting the service? Surely one could have kept it going. Maybe a possible route for Monarch or Jet2 next summer one would think..

Ryanair will move the Kaunas route to Vilnius as part of a restructuring of its Lithuanian operations

You just need to keep checking. Ryanair don't finalise their flight schedule until only weeks before it's due to start. If you keep checking you will notice flights chopped and changed right up until the last few days before the winter schedule starts.

There must be a reason why Ryanair leave their schedules so late. I've just looked at the loads of Jet2's flights to Faro on a handful of dates in Nov/Dec and some are already past half full. Surely Ryanair are missing out on getting money in the bank nice and early?

It's not so much that they leave their schedules so late. It's more that the original schedules are invariably altered several times before the final one emerges, sometimes days before the season starts.

The alterations involve changing timings, sometimes the days of flight and, worst of all, the axing of routes that have been on sale. Cynics, with perhaps more than a grain of truth, suspect that Ryanair waits to see how routes are selling and, if they are not satisfied, will axe the route.

Conversely, on occasions a route will be slipped in just before a season starts.

I've made a bit of a study of this from my local airport at Bristol going back several years and have details of the evolving timetables in respect of a number of seasons.

The obvious question is therefore, "Is TheLocalYokel a cynic?"

If asked (or not, as in this case) I would have to place myself in the cynic category.

Heaven forbid! :shok:

The Ryanair Krakow flight was again full last night with space for just one baby.
I think there was just one foreigner on board, me.

(ee by gum, I thought tha wa a true Yorkshireman, which county do you come from?)

Yorkshire, but when checking in at Krakow, I was the only foreigner.
Back now to my luxury mushy peas, fish and chips and warm beer.

It always remind me of one time in Austria, we were waiting for our evening meal in the Hotel.
A group of Germans were starting their meal. One English guy commented, "Why have they served all the foreigners before us"

Anyone know why the Ryanair 6612 has just departed 14 and then flown North towards Skipton..?

I only noticed this because I just heard it over my house in Baildon, and then checked FlightRadar..!

I don't think it was a weather issue, as the BH Air looks to be having no problems descending now into 14. There was a PIA on arrival into MAN at the same time, but it wasn't really in the way and sending it to Skipton is a bit extreme isn't it..?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
