Also very positive and encouraging that 'We are also pleased to report record bookings on our Leeds Bradford summer 2017 schedule and customers can look forward to even lower fares so there’s never been a better time to book a low fare flight on Ryanair' 4 based aircraft would be great anytime soon!!

Another foray into Wizzair territory. I wonder what other Wizzair Donny routes they could have a bash at?

They will be catching Jet2 up with those passenger numbers and only 3 aircraft, yet Jet2 have 12 aircraft at leeds and the passenger numbers are only 1.5 million??

I'm guessing that Jet2's aircraft utilisation is a lot lower and a lot more seasonal than Ryanair.

Sophia would be good.

A friend of mine recently visited Sofia.

Granted, he was an Arsenal fan and, granted, he was there for a football match. He was part of a group that was attacked by a local hooligan firm and ended up in hospital. One of the group had to be airlifted home.

I'm also told it is a very dirty and run down city with a very unfriendly population by a Bulgarian friend of mine. Being from Varna, he might be biased. After all, I don't like Manchester very much.

Just throwing it out there....Doncaster can keep it.

Bucharest on the other hand sounds delightful.

To be honest, mentiong Sofia was based entirely on whether the demand would be there and the exploits of Wizz down the road at DSA and the presence of a sizeable Bulgarian population in these parts suggest it would do OK, particularly given it is also the airport that serves the Bulgarian ski market in the winter months. Bucharest too would be nice, but personally I want to see more to the Scandinavian countries - Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, even Helsinki although not sure if that would have the demand. Sweden is one of the most visited countries by Brits so it beggars belief we have never had a direct air service there - and I am purposely excluding the Swefly route to Islamabad via Stockholm/Skavsta.

White heather: I am surprised many u.k. visitors to Norway and Sweden. The cost of food and drink is around 3 to 4 times greater then the u.k. not the place for a city break unless a big wallet.
I have business interests in both countries and I need my American express gold card to survive, I max out on my u.k. cards.
I have no idea on visitor numbers but certainly aircraft never big or full I take and mainly seems to be business passenger or northern light visitors.
Truthfully I only visit Stockholm or Oslo, but dont see the numbers to justify flights from LBA, although I would love Norwegian Air to call at LBA as their flights to Stockholm and malaga have been good value and professionally operated.

Sounds as bad as Leeds City Centre late on a Saturday night.

I was actually out in Leeds last Saturday night and a group of Leeds United fans made friends with me in a club toilet. They liked my flowery shirt, apparently. All love, no war. Yet another excellent reason to book a Ryanair flight to Leeds in 2017....

Good to hear ! I will get my flowery shirt out and try a night out in leeds this Saturday night.
I am a bit old for the clubs though.

Ryanair's new winter flights from Leeds/Bradford to Murcia have started been uploaded but not on sale yet for the 2017/18 season. Looks like flights will operate 2x weekly on Tuesday and Saturdays as follows.

FR2322 = LBA 09:35 - MJV 13:35 / FR2323 = MJV 14:00 - LBA 15:55

The new Leeds to Wroclaw routes is still not showing as yet though.

Does this mean that they will use the 3rd aircraft at LBA and not have it "parked up" as a standby. I know that it has been used often this winter but maybe a 4th aircraft as a standby for next winter?

Its not that often now that that 3rd Aircraft you mention is parked up doing nowt... The 2x weekly MJV flights are though filling in yet more gaps in the 3 based aircraft schedules, It I'll be interesting to see if the Wroclaw route is schedule to be operated by LBA based aircraft or by an away based aircraft.
What with everything MOL is saying about his UK operations I really don't see a 4th based Ryanair aircraft coming LBA's way until at least summer 2018 at the earliest, which by then we might know a whole lot more about what happens after brexit deal is completed.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
