I hope everyone had a great Christmas ☺️

If you get a moment, please could you sign and share this petition for Iberia Express to reinstate flights between BHX<>MAD? 🙏

This is to be shared with the BHX & IBX route planning teams.

Great idea, but Iberia Express (or any other airline for that matter) are only interested in people willing to spend money to book flights, and not in petitions. It doesn't matter how many people sign a petition, if the bookings don't happen then neither will the flights.

Iberia Express wont be back at BHX, no point in doing a petition if BHX cant convince them we cant !

Question for ian farquharson .
What is the precedure for planes taking off on New Year’s Eve from R33?
For example I’m living on the flight path of R15 kitts green side and there’s literally lots of fireworks and pyrotechnics.
Do they just delay the flight?Example there’s a flight to Lyon which hasn’t taken off
Regards
Ant

Aircraft are over Kitts Green well above the height of fireworks, so not an issue.

Lyon departed at 2334 off runway 15

Hi there all, what happened to the tall thin tower building that was next to the main terminal in 1988, that resembled at air traffic control tower, that's disappeared years ago, I only remember it as British airways office was just to the right of it underneath, it must have been 50 feet high.

Got demolished within the construction of the Millennium Link connecting the 2 terminals i believe

If this is the one you mean it was demolished to make way for the development of the new pier.

That's the only tower that I can think of. It was originally intended as a ground movements tower for the terminal, but apart from it's early days, whenever I was in the viewing lounge the tower appeared empty.

Is it more busier at bhx in February and March rather then January?
The winter period ( November to end of March) is always considerably quieter. This is mainly down to the big reduction in holiday flights.
Weekends get a boost from mid December to early April with skiing flights.
I have to say that so far this winter we have kept a steady stream of movements throughout most days ( Tuesday and Wednesday probably the quieter days).
Very much looking forward to the coming summer, which looks like being a busier one, with Ryanair and EasyJet to the fore.

If you look at Kevin's post #1871 on the BHX CAA statistics the figures are similar forJan/Feb averaging 648,000 while March was significantly higher at 779,000. This year BHX could be pushing up past 900,000 towards the millioni in March and should pass the million in April a month earlier than 2023 with EasyJet etc getting into gear.

Regarding the tower on the now demolished pier it was indeed used for apron/ ground control but the noise bund restricted the view at the end of runway 15 it was then used for storage I believe and ground control went back to the original Elmdon tower.

Hi Guys and Happy Sunday.
Now I’ve been thinking the last few minutes about airport action and the job they do at bhx for example waiting in the winter for 2 hours on a Tuesday and Wednesday for the next departure or arrival at bhx.Now if I emailed him in a couple of weeks regarding his streaming stats and how he’s done .Should we or I invite him and his channel to the forum or would you think he would like the privacy he gets.
Also should we create a sep Thread for him as an appreciation of photos or videos he takes at the airport.

Thanks

I thought you had said previously, that you had invited Kev to join Forums4Airports and that he wasn't interested. In truth, he is probably far more involved with his own community on his YouTube channel. No, we shouldn't create a separate thread for him. Links to any photos or videos can be placed in the threads currently available and credit him/Airport Action.

Alright Kev sorry. It was only a suggestion.Look it’s a forum where people have opinions and ideas.Let other people have there say.

I like Airport Action, but not managed to watch any streams for a couple of months. Last time I did there were up to 1,000 people watching live at peak times such as A380 arrival which was a huge jump from the summer. So well done, it seems to be growing nicely.

It's all about building the YouTube channel as that is the best way to help Airport Action grow. If I had a YouTube channel, that would be my main focus for all interactions every time. Anything that dilutes traffic away from the channel is a no.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
