Ah ! The media seem to not operate on pure facts and will always call out dishonesty of anyone but themselves. ' Never let the truth ( facts ) get in the way of the story ' appears to be the standard operating procedure. And if it is necessary to pad it out to fill time, any waffle is good enough.

I admit that I am no friend of Journalists and my legal mind is always looking for inconsistencies in journalistic output and fact checking is too slow for fast moving news.

All that now of my chest, I congratulate Airport Action for a measured, straight forward stream of events without the inane commentary a certain channel is plagued with !

Without knowing which 'public pathway/walkway' you are referring to, if its a public pathway/walkway then wouldnt it obviously be open to the public, no?

There is a public right of way from Marston Green train station car park all the way around the perimeter fence to the golf course which, as its public, can be walked on to your hearts content (though not with a ball and clubs unless you pay...). Im fairly certain there is a footpath between the airport boundary fence and the railway though its been years since i've been down that way - might take the dog for a mooch around sometime soon...

Edit - ah, just seen your other thread. According to openstreetmap, yes;

Accessing the footpaths requires walking up the paths either alongside the site compound for the M45 works on Clock Lane or going along the new road that links to the relocated GAA field, the start of which is by the first new bridge over the new bypass. I think its foot only at the mo, though.

There is a plan somewhere of what the footpaths will look like once the M42 J6 scheme finishes. All previous footpaths are replaced by equivalent routes. I'll see if i can find it.

There is a public footpath from by the burial ground that goes along & comes out over the bridge overlooking the 70/80 stands between the end runway 06 & the aircraft bridge ( that was) I sometimes walk this route. There is also a path that runs along the airport side of railway line all the way to MG
hope this helps

Thanks. Thats the one im referring to, i think.

Found my previous post on public rights of way from the new road (which ultimately get over to Damson Parkway;

Note: if National Highways want/need to close a PRoW during construction they must have an alternative (may be longer) route to replace it with unless they have a side roads order to extinguish it once and for all (unlikely, though they may permanently divert them to better suit the new environment (you wouldnt want a footpath crossing a busy road on a bend, for example)). In other words, if you are planning to use one of the footpaths that was previously there, you should still be able to. It might be slightly difficult to find the starting point, though...

Looking at Google maps the Solihull Moors ground is next to the giant Land Rover factory on Damson Parkeay. I'd be surprised if there isn't' a bus service from the A45.
I also I am walking to the ground for weight loss as I’m widespread butter.That was why I’m wanting to know.When I went past last Saturday morning the footpath was blocked off for public use.I wanted to know if there was an alternatives .I would come over the A45 bridge down the slope and carry on round for 20 mins walking around the A45 walkway.Just wanted to know if anyone has been passed there this week and noticed if the route has been blocked off mate

Ah. I think you mean the bit of footpath here;

Yesterday, when i went past, it was blocked with a fence further up where that path joins the path around the 'mound' here.

Your solution, i think, is to access the path from Clock Lane, through the farm access gates which will bring you alongside the site compound and reaches the mound a few minutes later. You can then follow the footpaths (see here) through the fields, or go the long route along the A45 and see a few aircraft enroute.

I dont think you can park on Clock Lane, or anywhere around there. The closest is probably to park somewhere near St Peters church in Bickenhill.

RouteYou (which seems a nice websites) reckons its about 2 miles.

Good luck!

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
