It’s a waste of time really. The sponsorship provides great publicity but produces little in the way of passenger traffic. As I recall, Aeroflot sponsored Manchester United for some years but that did not lead to a service to Manchester.

Meanwhile Etihad built a stadium after them ? So it swings a roundabouts.

The Delta Stadium @ Knightheads Park, has quite a ring about it.

Now then Villa, where are our plans ? :censored:

I guess the Brexit lorry park on car park 6 is not needed anymore as Mcdonald's want to build a restaurant there.

One wonders where that leaves future airport expansion to the south as I seem to remember some of the new road network potentially using this site?

I’m wondering where the staff are going to park with it being the staff car park

It's only the top bit of the car park which is currently disused (mostly). It's last use was for arrow cars before they went belly up. Staff parking won't be affected thankfully!

For me personally.More congestion for traffic. We already have hs2,Airport busy then usual and rush hour traffic more often

God help us if this gets approved. My dad (Lives near the flight path of R15/R33)gets up at 4.30 for a 6.30 shift in cov so it wouldn’t annoy him as much but maybe 1,2,3 o’clock. What I do have concern about is who will be flying out of the airport at that time.Pegasus and Wizz are my predictions.Maybe an Romanian airline

Practically nobody flies out in the night time hours just the odd freight flights, the night hours traffic is mostly TUI and Jet2 returning from there final rotation of the day.

If you want evermore new routes by definition you will get more flights and the airports are 24/7 operations.

I’m just saying for example Manchester has a Pegasus flight that departs at 1.05-1.20am
Then if you look at Wizz air from Luton they allow overnight flying.

Thats a bit negative Ant? "God help us if this gets approved"?

I would imagine BHX have applied for more night flights for the based airlines, ie. the likes of Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet2 who will want to add more aircraft at BHX, and will want to make full used of them. They don't want them sitting on the ground for hours making no money, so they will want them to be able to operate between 23:30 & 06:00, thus adding more routes and hopefully reducing the cost of the fares.

Most of the extra flights would I imagine be aircraft landing back at BHX, we won't see more aircraft taking off in the dead of night, and certainly not the likes of Pegusus or Wizz, arriving and then departing as you are suggesting.

Maybe a Romanian airline? bit random? - what data is that based on?

For the airport to grow and develop, its a must that the night quota is looked at, and increased, i'm all for it. Aircraft are now much quieter, and the airport does has strict noise regulations at night, it's not like we have any B707s or BAc 1-11's anymore!!! :ROFLMAO:

I live very close to the runway 15 approach/ 33 climb out and have to say i am rarely woken by night departures.

Me too and even though I'm a very light sleeper I don't recall ever being woken up by a departure.

it's not like we have any B707s or BAc 1-11's anymore!!!

As great as the new generation of aircraft are I do miss the sound and smell of the good old One Eleven.

I’m the same. However I do feel for other people.Though if the airport needs expansion It needs be international.

Matt995-Blue air used to operate out of bhx I think I recall 0.55am to Bucharest so their is a high possibility of that happening again plus wizz air do plan to expand next summer according to plans by co pilot

Really nowadays people don`t want to fly overnight to european airports
arriving at god awful times, now being Manchester based right under the 23
approach it is non stop until 03.30 with most days being 20 to 30 an hour and it can get quite
noisey. As Mackerdown has said the only late departures are Sun Express , Pegasus and some Ryanair with the odd Turkish

Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?
