I can only assume that, with the ongoing MTP work, there is, at certain times, a shortage of contact stands and that SQ has opted to accept this rather than take a delay.Friend of mine went to Singapore yesterday, he was quite surprised he boarded via steps, is that normal ?
Idk. Is such a route possible even with the ULR A350s?I wonder if that'll set SQ up for a direct IAH-SIN route instead?
Makes sense given the investment required - crews and aircraft.

Can we assume the Manchester leg wasn't doing all that great either. If the MAN-EWR leg was getting bums on seats it wouldn't be a problem surely?Maywell be because Houston is not doing too well and most of the loads are Manchester only
It seems that MAN-IAH was doing ok, but with no UA interlining at IAH (federal regulations), this was mainly a point to point operation. I don’t think SQ would have wanted this to be a predominantly MAN-IAH operation. Added to that the stated intention of SQ to reduce tag-on operations. Can we assume the Manchester leg wasn't doing all that great either. A380 daily please on top of the usual A350 frequency…I can dream. But will we see a frequency increase anytime soon…?
