Hainan don't need a BE codeshare, they are filling the flights up with just the local population as it is.

If a codeshare was brought in, an increase to the PEK flights would also be needed.

Was there not mention a while back that Hainan were expected to go daily in January? Has that changed or am I getting confused again?

I think Hainan would do great daily even if they had to temporarily downgrade to the A332 for a while and then bring it up to an A333 once it has settled down as daily

All sectors of the SIN-IAH-MAN flights are now fully bookable, and fares are pretty decent.

Please can I be 'that guy' and ask for this thread to just return to Singapore Airlines related news. I'm just conscious that there now seems to be 3 threads discussing pretty similar things (future route development) and it's starting to get a little confusing.

Hi User001,
I am sorry for drifting off topic slightly!
It is great that all sectors are now bookable - do we know if UA are codesharing on the route yet?

Oh right - thats good! I feel SQ and MAG need to advetise their new IAH route as a new gateway to the US. I have just tried to book MAN-IAH but it is still saying 'contact the office to complete this booking' - puzzling!

It is fully bookable on the Singapore airlines website. One way MAN-IAH was about £469 in economy

I will try again now then! Thank you User001 for providing all this information about the recent SQ changes.

I know this isn't exactly 'new news' and doesn't affect the Manchester flight directly but I was wondering:

Yes, Singapore have added two new nonstop destinations from MAN but overall the service has reduced from 7 to five weekly so there hasn't exactly been an increase in capacity. Surely the route will now be given more scope for growth now it is direct so can you see SQ doing a 'Milan-style' routing with 1 weekly terminating?

Yes but do they still stand?

I thought they were originally but then they decided to only do 5 weekly and bring it forward to October. Are these slots still being accquired for daily by SQ then or have they been scrapped?

User will probably have a decent idea of the slot position?

SQ are generally pretty good when it comes to using slots requested. A guy I know is not convinced they have and current plans to go daily, but we can see what happens.

Yes - after all User001 is the one who has been feeding us all the information regarding this through the Singapore thread?

SQ schedules at present for dates next April show no Tues. or Fri. flight to SIN (and therefore no IAH flights on Mon/Thurs).

Not wishing to start a flurry of rumours - Ethan please don't wet your pants.

SQ SIN-MAN-IAH has F class blocked gradually from Feb/Mar next year.

Where is this source from?
I know I sometimes get carried away with rumours, but it is just speculation and excitment of the great times MAN is going through - but could this mean it is an A359 daily maybe?

The Scoot comment was tongue in cheek.

I'd be surprised if the route was going A350 from B77W. But who knows. I'd prefer a daily service, and if we get that on the A350 that's very good.

May be it's a transition to the newer configured 77Ws with the 4 first class seats = best to take it out, make a note of those who booked it - let's them know about the change and reinstate them when the schedules loaded. Far better to restrict sales early on when you are altering otherwise if you were passengers 5 to 8 in F you'd be a bit peeved at a downgrade!

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
