And here she is after an engine change.

Norwegian 787 Dreamliner (Sonja Henie livery) EI-LNA

Apologies for the poor quality I was shooting into the sun with the subject in shadow.

The Norwegian B787 is now out of the hanger and is parked on a remote stand on the terminal side of the runway(80 something??)as at 1230 lunchtime.

RAF A332 Voyager ZZ337 landed this morning and went into the MAEL hangar, no idea of a departure time or day yet.

The RAF A330 left for Brize Norton on Friday evening, Titan Airways 763 G-POWD arrived yesterday and is now in the hangar.

West Atlantic's first B767F should be passing through MAEL for some pre-delivery work later this year.

The TAG aviation/TCS expeditions B757-200 has been partially painted at Manchester, its all balck with no titles yet, however, due to some work over running, it has had to be towed out from the Air Livery hangar to make way for an urgent job on a Virgin A330-300.

It will re-enter the Air Livery hangar some time in the next 2 weeks, and then head down to BHX for the cabin fit out at MAEL.

G-OOBF has been rolled out of the hangar and now wears the TCS Expeditions titles, it should be departing to Washington today

With the Monarch 757's leaving they should all be passing through BHX over the next couple of weeks with the first due in tomorrow (2nd Nov) evening.

MAEL looks to be pretty busy at the moment. Inside there is currently a Thomson 763 G-OOBL, a JET2 757 G-LSAC and a Titan A320 G-POWI and I think Monarch 757 G-MONJ is in there too.

Today there were plenty of Monarch aircraft parked on the 70's and 80's stands along with the 4 A321's and A320 that were operating. There is also one of the new Ryanairs and a Flybe Embraer at the end.......

.......another A321 and an A320 which has had it's titles removed. The Thomson 763 G-OBYG is apparently up for sale.

Monarch 757 G-DAJB was also parked on stand 25. I've heard it suggested we could see as many as 15 Ryanair aircraft parked up this winter, I don't know where.

TAG 757 G-TCSX was parked outside, A319 G-NMAK looks to have been moved.

I saw Jet2 757 G-LSAJ land this morning, it turned right off the runway towards Elmdon/MAEL so I assume it's in for Monarch. Another Jet2 757 landed around 15:00ish but I couldn't see the reg so not sure if it was another one or just a test flight for G-LSAC?

Driving down the A45 I noticed the 70's stands full of Monarch's with a Ryanair and a Flybe, the 80's stands had 2x Thomson 763's, the Hifly A310 and more Monarch's and from what I could see the MAEL apron looked busy with a Titan A320, Jet2 757 and TAG 757. I wonder where all these Ryanair's we're supposed to be getting will go?

The third and final Monarch 757 recently arrived from LGW to finish it's days :sorry:

Monarch A320 G-OZBK departed mid week, I read it was heading to Halifax, and after end of lease checks Thomson 763 G-OOBL left with the titles removed.

:)

Successful first year at Birmingham

Over 1,000 maintenance events in first twelve months

Highlights of the past year include maintenance on a Norwegian Boeing 787 Dreamliner, for which MAEL is a Boeing GoldCare provider, simultaneous maintenance on three Monarch Airlines Airbus A300 aircraft and S4C work on a Titan Airways Boeing 767.

Ian Bartholomew, Interim Managing Director of Monarch Aircraft Engineering, says: “The first year of operations at our Birmingham facility have exceeded our plans, with maintenance for more aircraft from a wider range of operators than we had anticipated.

It would appear that the ABX B767F is in for attention by MAEL.
If this is the case I wonder if it is a one off or perhaps something more regular.Nice to to see different cargo aircraft in as well. ;)

The ABX B767F is actually on delivery to West Atlantic A/w.After attention from MAEL it will take on the registration SE-RLA.It does carry operated by ABX Air on the forward fuselage close to the cockpit windows. :good:

Thanks, I'd heard it was due through but didn't realise it was this one. I think it's out of the hangar now and parked on stand 25.

We should be seeing Cello's 734 coming through soon?

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
