Leeds/Bradford - Amsterdam route will operate up to 20x weekly. 3x daily Mon-Fri, Sun & 2x daily Sat using both KLM City Hopper’s Embraer 175 & the larger Embraer 190.

Breaking News: Fatal Accident at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport After Person Injested Into Engine of KLM Cityhopper Aircraft

A tragic incident occurred today at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport where an individual was fatally injured after being ingested into the jet engine of a KLM Cityhopper Embraer aircraft. Details about the circumstances and the victim have not been disclosed. Authorities have not ruled out suicide as a possible cause, and an investigation is ongoing.

The accident happened on the tarmac as the plane was preparing to depart for Billund, Denmark. Many passengers witnessed the horrifying event.

All the DFF says is a based aircraft at LBA. It doesn't say specifically what for, but pointers do suggest KLM, but I still am not sure about that, but equally we shall see

D-AGMP operated the KL1023/4 on Saturday so still some GA's around but do agree they are not as frequent. Let's hope things stay KL and don't become T3, thus meaning the latter do have other plans for LBA

This is becoming very interesting because if fewer GA aircraft around and more KL in general, then exactly what are Eastern advertising for LBA (and BRS) crew bases for if, and it remains an if, it's not for KL?

Ive seen Eastern operate MAN/NCL also, maybe a few others. So far we haven't seen Eastern. German seem to be doing a good job. prefer the KLM metal though.

Wet leasing from German and Eastern is reportedly a temporary arrangement to make up for a shortage of pilots. KLM have stated more pilots are in training The current lease agreements are due to end in October.

And if that is true then Eastern definitely have something else in the pipeline for LBA (and BRS). I just wonder if this is an expansion of the code share with AF? AF have apparently stipulated LBA is on their radar. Would have thought slots at CDG may be difficult to come by though. Anyway time will tell......
