Turkmenistan won’t be back for some time. They have failed audit trails within their maintenance records however BTW that doesn’t mean their aircraft have been flying with actual mechanical issues more rather the paperwork is incomplete.
The UK were the ones that raised the issue with EASA in the first place !

In fact the CAA have be the active lead agent in a number of EU exclusions in recent times including pressuring Germany over the Mahran route licenses in support of our fellow Anglophones across the ocean.

Jennyjet high street travel agents flog their own group products first and formost and secondly what makes them best levels of commission - that their business model in a nutshell

Few are completely independent of these rules .

They aren’t obligated to find YOU the best or what might be considered unusual routings or destinations. Thats up to YOU to lead them !

That’s long been the case.

And yes it’s a catch twenty two situation and I am afraid Birmingham has a relentless uphill challenge against Heathrow Gatwick and MAG group airports.

It’s especially hindered on New York routes for viability when pushing uphill against thirty daily’s down the M40, Dublin and to a lesser extent Manchester (an airport where those 30 daily’s also effect the front cabin and yield potential enough that Oneworld has once again abandoned that market , whilst Delta has handed their traffic to partners Virgin)

On the Toronto route the headidays of the seventies and eighties are long gone simply because the VFR trafFic has declined -bluntly died off steadily over the last twenty years.

Hopefully it won't be long. It is not a reflection in any way on BHX where loads have been good. Wish them a speedy return.

Wamos Air are operating Wednesday night's departure for Turkmenistan. An A330 is positioning in from Madrid at 20:30
Is this a one-off or are banned airlines allowed to draft in leased aircraft and crew until their own operation is recertified?

Don't know the answer but the airport website shows due in tomorrow at midday so hopefully leased aircraft are allowed, others will probably know.

The Airline has not been banned from operating,(outside of Europe that is)so it can charter/sub-charter other Airlines to operates it's flights.
Passengers arriving in Asgabat and travelling on to Amritsar for instance will probably be then flying on Turmenistan equiptment.

I believe that the ban only applies to their aircraft so leasing in a third party airline to operate flights is perfectly acceptable.

It's good to see commitment to keep the BHX flights going. Apparently the issue is not a major one so hopefully their 777's will be back soon.

I have been doing some checking after I noticed that someone has posted an updated timetable on the other forum.
It would appear that the WAMOS A332 will continue until the end of March. The timetable I looked at was a bit complicated and didn't seem to show all 5 weekly flights operating every week ,if that makes sense.
What it did suggest was that from 5th April, Turkmenistan Airlines will be using their own equipment again. The B777s will be heavily used by the look of it as well.
Obviously this is subject to change. When I get home I will try and post the revised schedule from the website, unless off course somebody does it sooner.
Hopefully this means that the airline is in the clear and can continue to operate this important and popular service from BHX.

Further to my post above, the S19 timetable kicks in on Sunday 31st March. There are flights on 31st, 1st 2nd and 3rd of April.
It is possible that this part of the timetable is the original plan, made before the ban was placed on the airline.
According to the CAA website, it states that they are aware of TUA chartering another airline to operate it’s flights, and passengers should contact the airline. No mention anywhere of the ban being lifted.
Until something official is released, then we will have to assume that all flights are being operated by WAMOS until further notice.

Frankfurt reportedly resumes 31st March but not sure if that is on Turkmenistan metal or Wamos. No word on LHR or CDG - am I right in thinking the only Europe flights running are the Wamos/BHX ones?

Are any services currently operating ASB-BHX-ASB?
Looking at FR24 states a Turkmenistan B757 is due at 12 noon and says 'Scheduled'.
Looking at ASB departures, the flight is listed as 'unknown'.
The BHX arrivals page no longer has Ashgabat in the drop down list
I haven't seen any BHX WAMOS fights on FR24 for a while.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
