Ps I apologise for any spelling and grammar errors in the next few days. Just updated to the latest IOS and it’s bloody awful. It’s moved some elements of the keyboard around and it’s also slowed safari right down, so, now going to have to look at getting Chrome or something instead.

You could try a different keypad such as swiftkey it might help or simply persist for a day or so to reset your finger memory .

The changes ain’t that drastic on my iPad Pro imho.

Though I do continue to use the key modifier for the numbers rather than the new swipe down method , as that doesn’t do it for me and I am a heavy number user !

Not sure of your safari issues but for me chrome simply sucks personal perception based on the built in Google spy eyes but your mileage may differ.

That said I’ve been using Safari on Apple computers since it’s inception with
Firefox on PCs and before that Netscape Navigator on both PC and Mac

Had a bit of a row with someone yesterday lol.

A friend of mine travelled MAN-AMS, but wait for it, via Heathrow.

I questioned ‘why on earth did you do it that’s way’.

‘The direct options didn’t fly at the time I wanted’.

‘Up to 15 flights a day and your telling me not one of them was a time you wanted’.

‘I didn’t know there was 15 a day’.

Makes you wonder what you need to do to get through to some people. I don’t mind people using alternatives or 1 stop options on route so like New York and such if the timings, airline and price are not right, I’ve done it several times, but on a route with 15 fligts a day and 3 different operators. Blooming heck!

He may be controlled by someone else who books the tickets or he goes via LHR to get extra Avios.

The next few weeks should see the long awaited route announcements start to filter through.

2 new Star alliance carriers (short haul), as well as 2 other short haul ones.

There are probably going to be about 5-6 unserved routes announced too, as well as whatever else is brought to the table.

This is good to see, should kick start momentum through S18 to S19.

It'll be interesting to see how the November stats stack up, being the first month with no Monarch and no repatriation flights. Should find this out in a couple of weeks.

LOT & Croatian then?
Both would do well LOT are receiving 738's as we speak and Croatia is becoming very popular.

Yeah those are the ones, but you never know, may have issues with bilaterals or aircraft or something.....

The most surprising part of the LOT news is the frequency, I had expected 5-6 weekly, daily at a push. But nope, they are going in fully armed with a 2 daily flight!

It’s a 2 daily E195 for MAN.

LOT287 WAW 0745 MAN 0950
LOT288 MAN 1040 WAW 1405
E95 daily

LOT289 WAW 1500 MAN 1700
LOT290 MAN 1750 WAW 2135
E95 daily

Eff 25/3/18

I’d have happily had a 5-6 weekly E95 and watch the route grow, so 2 daily is a bonus.

Saw the strangest thing for Croatian... DHC8 ops which i dont think will be that will fare too well against other airlines?!

Word of caution, as always, slots granted but even with flight numbers nothing is guaranteed.

Have we not seen this previously where flights have been 'loaded' but never materialised?

Not trying to be pessimistic but just saying.

Well nice to here Lot are returning. They did well with the local diaspora of Poles and Ukrainians in not so distant past.

Many’s a summers Saturday in the 70s and 80s when three or so IL18s would arrive in close succession.
Then even before the wall came down they started two weekly schedules with the TU134s.

They would have probably never left other than they entered a code share with BA transfering the service to BA then it went west as BAcon destroyed regional flying.
Then they were faced with the sudden explosion of the flexible fares operators.

Would expect a few of the smaller 175s turn up as well.

As for Croatia also good to see them return to the beech routes what with the massive recovery in vacations in that area of late.

Now can we encourage CSA and UAI to also return.

Totally agree Scottie. We have been here far too often

I'm still waiting to find out what the long haul route was that was to be announced three weeks ago then two but now seems to have gone off course.

There are new routes that are known to me, however I'm afraid I've been sworn to silence on the risk of loosing all future notifications - I believe this has also been enforced on certain other forum members.

At the moment you will just need to be patient - sorry but that's the nature of this industry.

As said this has started to be loaded into GDS. That’s not happened in a very long time, and now progresses a bit further than ‘just a slot application’.

As for the long haul route, it’s still due, but things have clearly been delayed for one reason or another. It’s not due to start until W18, so I’m personally not one bit concerned at this stage.

It's good to hear all the moves going on in the background.

On the Short Haul, it's all about replacing Monarch, with a bit on top. EasyJet feels the most eye catching, but Jet2 and Ryanair obviously have plans. Hopefully split terminals won't dissuade them. Also nice to see some new flag carriers join and some thickening existing services (e.g. TAP/Finnair).

On the Long Haul, its mostly about thickening what is already there. There may be new routes to China, India and South Africa which are exciting. On the flip side, AA have significantly reduced capacity (albeit some might be replaced by UA). VS seem to be thickening their W18 routes, as are TCX. Looking east, EY seem
To be back at double daily B77W, and QR inch toward triple daily B788. Oman, also seem to want multiple daily frequencies. Cathay have committed to daily, and the flight numbering system hints they have more ambition. Hopefully, HU will be slightly more than 3x weekly next winter and Saudia seem to do well by their standard.

Lots to keep an eye on moving forward, hopefully many more airlines and services to make use of the new terminal facilities!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
