I'm surprised Flybe don't serve DUB. Would offer some great eastbound connections, but it may reflect either that the codeshares are incidental to the BE network, or that DUB originating PAX prefer to change at one of the big European or Middle Eastern hubs.

I think this would be beneficial as there is no direct link from China to Ireland but BE don't fly from MAN to DUB. I have said previously it is a crowded market with the ubiquitous EI and FR flights to DUB but even just for connecting passengers, 2 daily Q400/E75 could work

I think Hainan are looking at doing direct flights from China to Dublin. Saw an article in the Irish Independent.

Flybe only do DUB from Southampton Exeter and Cardiff.

Interesting report in the Business Desk with large increase in US visitors to Marketing Cheshire website post-Brexit

""It’s made the UK, in simple terms, an even more viable and appealing destination. In the two weeks following the vote, flight searches to the UK on British Airways alone increased 97 percent to two weeks prior.
I wasn’t expecting to see the effects trickle into Cheshire quite so quickly but Marketing Cheshire’s website and digital statistics released this week are telling a very different - and an extremely positive - story for Cheshire’s tourism.
“Our website has seen an increase by 25% from visitors in the US searching for holidays or visits to Cheshire, compared to figures from the same time last year.
“In the past, we’ve seen only small amounts of variation. To see such a dramatic increase, we can only assume it is the result of Brexit.”

Always be 2-way business links and but with potentially 2-way tourism now, this should go a long way to reassure airlines either embarking on or planning transatlantic expansion.

Yes definately! I have been saying that Brexit makes inbound tourism more attractive and this helps the Detroit route. It said on routesonline that Virgin/Delta are analysing the effects of Brexit but these could be positive for tatl flights

It was interesting that Air Berlin have introduced a number of new services and increases in frequency to U.S. Routes from Berlin and Düsseldorf.

On the MAN web site, there is a page on New Routes. I notice Oman Air to Muscat is not shown.
Has there been a press release or comment from MAN on this proposed new service although I know there was something from the airline? I can't remember whether there has or not, and do we know times? Wasn't an evening flight mentioned?

Slightly intrigued by this code share with SV, although it's suggested it doesn't apply to the MAN flights for either service.

Edit: Ah, just seen the separate Oman Air thread and that User001 gave times, with seats going on sale 15th Sep.

Hmm...this is really interesting.

I could see AI making the DEL route work but wouldn't want to launch from BOM because their DEL base is bigger. As far as I know AI is in talks with MAN and are recieving more 788s.

I know Vistara is in talks for Mumbai with MAN and because they are owned by SQ have a good chance of launching flights.

I would love Jet Airways to launch and maybe offer connections to DL/Virgin's extensive tatl routes from MAN given their partnership with DL but I can't see it happening.

I wonder if anyone has any news about whether AI is in talks with MAN and do people think that we will end up with a direct link.

BE could codeshare with AI from MAN as well as from BHX.

On Anna.Aero's Route Shop if you search Delhi one of the top unserved routes is Manchester and it says this:

'Annual O&D between New Delhi and Manchester is 54,000 passengers. Currently no non-stop flights operate between Manchester and New Delhi. Third biggest O&D market in the UK and one of the largest un-served in Europe.'

I think this website may even be outdated so thay number may have grew.

I'd expect India within the next 18-24 months - probably Delhi first (AI) with Mumbai to follow (we assume with Vistara).

Why don't Jet2 follow in the footsteps of TCX and make their JFK flights year round with a 757 winglets?

They could also add the likes of Boston or Providence?

It will be because Jet2 would get eaten alive on New York from Manchester.

TCX have been lucky due to the holiday background able to fill the bulk of seats, and a surprisingly robust code share agreement with various airlines.

I think NYC has about as much capacity as it can realistically handle for the time being.

User 001,

What about Air India or Biman Bangladesh? Dhaka to JFK is a major route.

Could you tell us where the airline is from? Indian Subcontinent?

Also should we move this conversation to the route development thread?

Jet2 will stick to what they know best. European routes with the "exotic" charters around Christmas and New Year. For MAN, I do wonder if they will try to aim for some more city break style routes on a 2 to 3 weekly basis but working where they could go is hard. Let's see Seville, Keflavik, Berlin, Bucharest plus throw in a weekly to Varna and/or Burgas?

If we look at the chart in Ray's post in the Jet2 thread, 1 airline looks a bit out of place... hello Emirates, only 3 flights a day and you provide nearly 3% of monthly capacity. Unbelievable!

It's not worth speculating about a new New York service as there many variables at play and will be worth waiting for a bit more information to come into User001's way. If it happens, then it's probably be going to be announced on a Thursday given it's become almost the de facto "major route news" day.

Im not sure Land23R.I moved all the posts to this thread, and i think User001 has deleted part of his post.It was a post about a rumoured new route to New york and it will be a game changer.

Cheers Andy. I guess he must have deleted it for a good reason. Odd though, as User001 thinks MAN has enough capacity to NY, a view I agree with. If the posts were moved from another thread, were you referring to MAN User001?

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
