Good morning,

This mornings EK42 has 11 in J and 25 overbooked in economy. The first two A380 departures from BHX are full already. My flight back has 12 J seats spare on the 4th April and already full in economy. The 'very' strong rumour is that the evening flight will be an A380 before Christmas.

Cheers

Karl

Excellent numbers, Emirates are booming at the moment.

I'd heard next year for an evening A380 but great news if it does get bought forwards to this year

Have a great trip.

Thanks Ray,

The Emirates staff are quite worried about boarding/deplaning so many people. I'll see how it goes in two weeks.....once I've got me feet warm. Shan't miss blighty for 2 weeks!!

Cheers

Karl

Im sure there will be a few issues around so many people boarding/de-boarding at the same time and also the fact that other flights will be arriving at the same time, especially during the peak summer months, how is the immigration area going to cope ??? That will be interesting and im sure we will hear about all these "horror" stories in our local press and other social media. However people can now vote with there feet at BHX, they can travel on an Emirates A380 if they want that experience or they may beable to travel on a brand new Qatar 787 which may be a different experience. At lease the good folk of Brum/West Mids have a choice. Thats great news.

Have a great trip mate.

Im sure the staff at Emirates (BHX) have been in close discussion with there colleagues at both MAN/LGW/LHR for some helpful hints and tips. Also maybe they have hired a few more Emirates staff ?? That would be useful.

What still amazes me about the 787 is just how quiet it is.

Take off is at 1:59

I always feel that the 787 sounds a slightly quieter version of the 777, especially when you compare the Emirates 777 and an Air India 787 when your looking from the spectators car park by the runway extension ????

The loudest aircraft at BHX at the moment i feel is the Embraer 175, these little aircraft make some noise. Crazy

If Manchester can load a 2 class A380 comfortably with 2 jetties in 1h 50m, then I'm confident BHX can do it in 2 hours with 3 Jetties.

I'm about a mile or so north west of the runway and can definitely hear the Embraers as they take off, even with the windows closed. The 787 is barely audible on most occasions.

I still love the sound of the 757's though and do miss the old British Airways 1-11's

I was walking up our road on Wednesday late morning when I just happened to look towards the direction of the airport, and there was the Norwegian 787 climbing away off runway 33.
Beautiful sight and as you all say really quiet. I was lucky I looked in the direction I did when I did as I probably would not have known it was there.
Really looking forward to this time next week, lots of first visits and hopefully lots of healthy loads to boost our pax numbers,BHX is definitely on the up :drinks:

Shame you can't remember the 'grippers ' :D

We used to call the 1-11s 'Rockets' ,and the smaller 200 versions used by Aer Lingus 'Pocket Rockets'. Those were definitely great days.

Pre hush kit as well!

Vueling are using A320 "sharklet" EC-MEQ in the Pepsi Max livery. I said a few days ago that I would love to see more Air France A321s, and several have visited since then including F-GTAS which is due in at lunchtime!

Unfortunately the morning SAS flight diverted to Manchester and the Norwegian Malaga flight is delayed.

Evening everybody and welcome the new Forums4Airports ;-) Now that i can work out how to post a comment, any body know why there is a Qatar flight to Doha showing on the BHX website as QR 9609 to Doha departing at 22.00 ????

Eurowings are using A320 D-AEWC on the Düsseldorf flight this morning. I think this is a first visit although the registration may have visited previously on a BAe-146. The Air France lunchtime flight is again showing as an A321.

Turkmenistan are using a 777, EZ-A778 is due at 12:28.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
