How long has that been now, 2 years or so?

Now we know why aircraft are departing from TWY B.
 
I believe the issue with the 33 CAT III ILS is due to drainage problems in the critical area, fingers crossed they can get it sort out before the Autumn foggy season arrives!

Yes I was aware of the taxiway restrictions for the A380 at Alpha, I believe that have to do a pit replacement before the taxiway can cope!

Is this new as it also mentions 77W restrictions, where that type have been using that taxiway for years? Of course it could be that the Emirates and PIA aircraft are under the weight restrictions mentioned?
 
I've not seen it cause an issue either.

I suppose Islamabad and Dubai aren't exactly far for a 77W so maybe they're not loaded up over that weight?

So the runway holding point at A1 is still weight restricted for the A380 & B777 until at least 31/10/16, and more importantly Flight Calibration of the ILS is taking placing tonight, hopefully to test if the 33 ILS can be approved for Cat III landings! mind you don't hold your breath!!! Fingers crossed it has or will now be sorted!!

Yes its been a long time without Cat 2 or 3 on the 33 ILS. Even if the flight calibration test is successful, I believe that the 33 ILS has to radiate for 200 hours before Cat 2 or 3 approach's can start.

All I know about the A1 taxiway restrictions, is that its something to do with a pit, not certain where about this is on the airfield, or what actually requires doing, guess they are working on it slowly!

I'm a bit surprised that the ILS is going to be out of service till 8am everyday - I would have expected something like 6.30am to 7am so that there would be less opportunity for aircraft to hold/divert in case LVPs come into force?

Probably looking at it from the point of view of getting the early morning departures rush cleared in the case of bad weather.
 
The Notam is actually showing the 33 ILS is out of service from the 1st November at 23:00 until the 21st December at 08:00, so is therefore not available for a month and a half!, I believe they are working on the drainage issues in the critical ILS area, hence it not being available, fingers crossed for a Cat 3 working ILS in 2017!

From reading other forum's, I believe it is. I read a while back on another forum, that a lot of 'expensive' topsoil had been laid down and seeded with grass (given the rate at which my lawn is currently growing, this must now be well established).
Also, shortly afterwards, I grabbed some screenshots from FR24 around midnight one evening showing an aircraft making many approaches and go arounds at BHX. I think it was labelled as a calibration aircraft, but unfortunately I can't now find the screenshots.
Hopefully it will get sorted in the near future.

NEW - Profile Posts

according to some people, you only need 1 day in each of the Yorkshire Dales, North Wales and Lake District "to have seen it all". Which is why its minibus tour number 3 this year of the Yorkshire Dales for me on 16th October. Different routes and different things to see each tour.
