Just looked at the final seat maps that were posted on the "other forum" and showed 16 business class seats sold and pretty much the same the other way but this was still not enough.
Im getting a feeling that no matter how successful this route was and in this very competitive TATL market, BHX was just in the way and not really needed as they can now put all there efforts in LHR and MAN.

Maybe i am different, but i could see nothing wrong with a water canon salute as United bowed out of Brum. It showed not only respect for a significant event but also displayed a degree of warmth and friendship towards an airline which in its various forms has served BHX well for many years.
Yes, BHX must be disappointed at United's exit but at at the very least the airline should acknowledge that, should they change their mind, they would be more than welcome. Never close the door on your way out, always leave it half open....

Indeed, it is not impossible at all that one day United could return to BHX.

As always though BHX is at the mercy of external events that can dictate if UA would come back to BHX anytime soon. ie: Terrorism, falling pound, effects of Brexit, oil prices, success or not of Primera Air at BHX, Donald Trump etc etc etc

A very nice photo set of the first and last United flights 1997-2017 and a thank you wing wave (I do like these!).

Although a near identically angled shot, a great pity it wasn't exactly the same so that changes in the distance could have been compared ('we really should wash those curtains you know dear').

Great shot and I think the wing wave has a ring of "sorry and thank you Brum. As a pilot and co-pilot we have not got a clue why the bean counters have closed this route. Hopefully we will see you soon. Have a good day"

I only see photos of the last United flight operated by N18112?

The inaugural 1997 flight was actually by Continental.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
