That's interesting Ian. At MAN, Saturday also has been the quietest in terms of movements, probably followed by Wednesday. I can only assume it's either because based a/c are switched elsewhere as they are hardly likely to be idle, fewer 'w' patterns, or because there are a higher proportion of longer sectors on those days.

Monday, and perhaps surprisingly, Thursday have the highest movements. What are BHX's busiest days in terms of movements?

BHX July Pax

2024 – 1,343.812
2023 – 1,229,335
2019 – 1,354,772
2018 – 1,313,887
2017 – 1,436,756
2016 – 1,222,584

Rolling 12 months ending 31 July

2024 – 12,357,754
2023 – 10,866,310
2019 – 12,678,661
2018 – 12,533,821
2017 – 12,694,806
2016 – 10,922,961
Ouch no where near a record year 😕

Ouch no where near a record year 😕

Did anyone expect us to be by the end of July....?

For context, this is how BHX has been comparing to 2019 levels since the start of the year.

Jan’24: 716,498 (91.85%)
Feb’24: 771,736 (97.56%)
Mar’24: 911,887 (101.00%)
Apr’24: 988,183 (98.48%)
May’24: 1,175,998 (100.90%)
Jun’24: 1,265,366 (100.51%)
Jul’24 1,344.712 (99.34%)

In short we have been pretty much tracking 2019 levels since Feb/Mar... the record months will likely come after the summer season which the new EasyJet Base and Ryanair growth continues into winter...!

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
