Hmmm, just checked out the Portland arch and it is very impressive. I did note that anna.aero’s 'Chief Analyst' was on board that flight and gave it a near perfect 10, a possible unfair advantage?

Vueling have put EC-KJD on the VY8752/3, it is expected at 1705.
Has anyone got any pictures of Vueling at BHX yet??

A bit of an improvement on the 'birthplace of heavy metal' article?

BCN is now bookable until end of July.

It's Mon, Wed, Fri and Sun up until the week starting Mon 20th June when there are five flights that week (an extra Thursday flight). From July the Wed flight then switches to a Thursday still at 4x weekly.

August is now bookable at 5x weekly with a Wed flight added to the existing Thur, Fri, Sun and Mon flights. I imagine it'll drop back to 4x weekly for September.

Manchester is not yet getting a base due to problems with aircraft allocation, but there are new destinations being mentioned including Seville, Florence and Palma de Mallorca.

All the destinations are Vueling bases and will be served by their based aircraft. As Vueling have many European bases a whole load of potential routes are possible.

This news is good to hear as it shows Vueling are beginning to put faith in the regions, and hopefully they'll look into a new route or two at BHX. A few of Vueling's most important bases are unserved by any airline from Birmingham.

I think there is potential of another destination or two for next summer. If, and it's a big if, they do add anything I reckon it'll be from the staple sun routes such as Malaga/Palma/Alicante etc. I think they'd need to build some brand awareness in the region before trying anything more exotique.

It's been reported elsewhere that Ryanair are about to start releasing S16 with STN due tomorrow. I'm not expecting anything at all for BHX but I do wonder if they'll attempt a pre-emptive strike on Norwegian or whether they've totally lost interest?

they have done well out of BHX with load it appears so their brand awareness hasn't held them back too much... their load factors this week has been in the mid-80's

however, if they are looking to set up a base at Man, most airlines would like to establish their base first before expanding into what is a competing airport... my eggs are in the Norwegian and Wizz Basket at the moment!

Yes, but the chances of expansion at both airports, and not just MAN, may have increased now we know that for next summer at least, any new flights will be operated by non-UK based aircraft.

And if Vueling are doing very well out of both airports (which they currently are), chances are they will look to expand at both. I don't think BHX will get a base, but I would like to see at least one more route from them.

As Ray says, any new flights will most likely be existing sun routes. Manchester is likely to get more city routes so if they do expand both at MAN and BHX, there won't be that much competition.

I do expect a lot more from Norwegian and Wizz though.

I'm told no new Vueling routes for Birmingham in 2016, but, a slightly longer period of 5 weekly versus 4 weekly on Barcelona will happen.

It's good to see Vueling doing well with healthy load factors :good:

I just think filling flights to Barcelona throughout the summer is slightly different to filling a full season of flights to the likes of Bilbao or Santiago and a little more exposure in the region wouldn't hurt. As said if we do see any new routes I can't see it being anything other than sunshine destinations, which wouldn't be a bad thing at all

There have been a couple of extra BCN flights added over the winter.

Sept is still at 4x weekly with October at 3x weekly. An extra Saturday flight has been added at the start of the half term so we see Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon with the same the next weekend for the end of the holiday.

Nov and Dec are then 2x weekly, Mon and Fri but extra flights have been added over the Christmas period with Christmas week seeing flights on Wed 23rd, Sat 26th and Sun 27th. New year week is the same with flights on Wed 30th, Sat 1st and Sun 2nd.

The rest of Jan and Feb are 2x weekly but for the Feb half term the Fri flight moves to a Sat.

What is odd is the huge gap at the start of the Easter holidays. We have a flight on Mon 14th March then nothing until Wed 30th March when it rises to 4x weekly. Schools break up for Easter on Thurs 24th March with Good Friday on the 25th which you would have thought was a peak time for flights? I suppose there is still time.

August is still 5x weekly which continues up to Sept 14th which is the latest time currently bookable.

Vueling have added a few more flights in March meaning no large gap between 14-30th as was previously loaded.

Alicante now showing non-stop on the Route Map from BHX but I cant find any bookable dates yet.

well, I can confirm that wasn't there a few days ago as I looked when they announced the LJL/LBA/NCL routes.. would be great if true, they were not one I was expect to see introduce new routes out of BHX...

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
