Again if confirmed, this will be a very welcome addition. Another new route from Vueling and will confirm that they are not finished with BHX yet and also that places like Spain/Canaries are back by popular demand, unfortunately the same wont be said for the likes of Turkey/Tunisia and Egypt.

As you say, TFS south is not a very busy place for them so where will the aircraft be from, do they have any based in TFS south or north ???

I think over the next few months we will see an expanded operation to the likes of the Canary islands, especially for W16/17 and hopefully we will see more from our other airlines incl Monarch and Norweigan.

It will be confirmed soon, like I say MAN/BHX confirmed routes, MAN bookable BHX will follow.

That means BHX will have 4 routes this winter, with TFS/AGP/ALC/BCN. Building up a nice network to the UK is Vueling,

It also shows the route ideas are open. At no point has TFS-MAN/BHX been even remotely rumoured, so, Vueling keeping us on our toes!

where are these bookable?

this is great news and User001, I think you hit the nail on the head. No-one saw TFS on the rumour radar which goes to show they can not be second guessed and like to leep their cards to their chest!

I certainly would never have through that in the space of a year, vuelling would have gone from 2x weekly BHX-BCN route to operating 4 routes from the airport over the winter!!

I just wonder why these have not been formally announced yet but it seems the timetable is still being finalized... is there more news still yet to come???

Tenerife starts June 2nd and looks to join the others with a BA code share. The website currently shows it bookable until the end of November.

Another interesting battle ground with Monarch 8x weekly, Ryanair 3x weekly, Norwegian 2x weekly, Vueling 2x weekly and the charter airlines.

Vueling will operate two new UK routes from this summer

The Tenerife Cabildo says that from this summer there will be two new routes to TFS Reina Sofía from Manchester and Birmingham operated by Spanish airline Vueling with a code shared by British Airways. Tenerife president Carlos Alonso said that Turismo was constantly seeking to improve connectivity with the island, and is also reaching further agreements at the ITB travel fair in Berlin with Air Europa, Thomas Cook, TUI, among others.

The new Birmingham route will operate Tuesdays and Fridays from 2 June, and Manchester’s on Mondays and Thursdays from 7 July. (The Manchester route will be weekly until halfway through September). Cabildo tourism councillor Alberto Bernabé said that the two new routes announced today were of great importance with British tourists being the main holiday market here, with over 1.7m holidaymakers from the UK staying in tourist establishments in Tenerife last year, a growth from 2014 of 5%.

Since Vueling started operating out of TFN in 2008 the airline has gradually increased its connections until, this summer, it will offer 15 routes, 5 of them international – Birmingham, Manchester, Roma (Fiumicino), París (Orly) and Zúrich.

Bad news - The 3x weekly Alicante flights that were showing in Amadeus for winter have now gone.

Good news - Tenerife is now bookable all through the winter.

So as it stands winter has just four weekly flights. 2x weekly Barcelona and 2x weekly Tenerife.

But this could still change, plenty of time for W16/17

As well as 4th June an extra Barcelona flight has been added on 28th May, currently showing as an A319.

No doubt due to the school holidays.

..and after all that panic.. is BCN still only 2x weekly over winter though? what about TFS? surely, of all the routes, that is the one likely to prove most popular over winter!

Barcelona and Tenerife are still showing 2x weekly each.

It looks as if things may well be being updated so it's one to keep an eye on.

well as a minimum we appear to have 7x weekly flights with vueling, but to me it would appear odd to have only x weekly to BCN and TFS. I hope this will change in due course!

I'd say it's still a work in progress at the moment and things may well change.

As it stands Barcelona is the same frequency as last winter so (if it stays this way) whilst we haven't gained, we've not lost either. Given the increases from Monarch and Ryanair maybe they think 2x weekly is about right? We've also got Norwegian to release the rest of their winter programme and Barcelona may feature.

Tenerife is new for winter so represents pure growth. Looking at their new routes from TFS (all starting in June) I'd say it's going to become a base. If forward bookings look good then maybe we might see an extra weekly frequency added? I'm slightly hoping that Norwegian may add an extra TFS for this winter.

Alicante seems to be a bit of a 'will they, won't they?' at the moment. It's bookable again now at 3x weekly but who knows what will happen. I think I'd be happy with it even at 2x weekly for winter.

Oh my, Vueling do appear to like is....

great news. Interesting, Vuelling now offers the same number of destinations from BHX as it does MAN

BHX has:
- Alicante
- Barcelona
- Malaga
- Tenerife

MAN has:
- Alicante
- Barcelona
- Rome
- Tenerife

Who would have seen that one coming?! Another airline that you can never seem to predict!

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
