Good to see that the initial inbound MAD flight did well :)

Last night's Norwegian flight from Madrid had many Spanish pax seeking new ways into UK avoiding LHR. Bodes well for @bhx_official

A great video from Air Team Images of the launch day, although with all the rain we had I'm not sure they needed a water cannon salute :D

There's some interesting comments from David Winstanley about the potential future of Norwegian at BHX, it's also good to hear the first flight was full and forward bookings for Madrid look healthy :)

If growth continues at the current rate the rolling pax total will pass 10 million in May :good:

Tomorrows Malaga is full with only the last few seats remaining on flights for the next couple of weeks. Sunday's Madrid is also full with only the last few seats remaining on next Tuesdays and Thursdays flights.

I hope the early momentum carries forward throughout the summer :)

Norwegian have taken over some of the check in desks once used by Bmibaby, they sit in between Easyjet and Ryanair.

It looks like a "Disco" with all these colours, looks great.

All of these different airline zones.

I've been having a look at the Norwegian website to try and gauge how things are going. Simply looking at the prices is a very crude way of doing it and only Norwegian will know the true yields but although far from exact I thought it might give a general idea.

Malaga looks to be doing really well with lots of flights over the summer sold out. Other flights have very high prices which is a good sign.

Barcelona looks to be picking up as we get closer with prices slowly rising, hopefully it'll do enough despite Vueling.

Madrid I can't work out. In the interview with David Winstanley he said forward bookings were very healthy yet there are lots of rock bottom fares available. Prices do increase considerably as the days get closer so if there is a reasonable amount of late bookings it will definitely help.

Lots of people on various social media sites are asking when the winter flights will go on sale but as yet there has been no substantial answer. Lots are asking about the October half term so if any of the three routes are to carry on into winter then it makes you wonder how many booking they are losing. The general reply from Norwegian seems to be routes are on sale approx 9 months in advance so it's not looking great.

There are still rumours of LPA and TFS for winter and still mutterings of a based aircraft for 2016 but I'm not holding my breath until I hear anything official.

Hopefully something will be announced in the next couple of weeks :s_dunno

I'm a little surprised that AGP is doing so well, seeing as NAX have four other airlines to compete with. I think that Norwegian and Vueling starting Barcelona on the same day is counterproductive, though. I can't see both staying- it's one or t'other. For the sake of variety I'd love Vueling to stay but my head says NAX will win out.

Mixed news.

Malaga is now bookable throughout the winter, 2x weekly Mon & Fri.

Sadly Madrid and Barcelona still finish in October.

I guess at least we know Norwegian will still be here through the winter and if the rumours of LPA and TFS come to fruition it'll soften the blow of losing Madrid (again) slightly.

That's disappointing, at least they tried. I would like to be enlightened as to why Madrid didn't work out, as things looked so good at the beginning.

Madrid is a strange one. It's a route tried from various UK airports but it rarely does well for whatever reason.

Maybe it'll start off seasonal and build up to year round. If it returns for summer 16 then it won't be too bad.

We can only hope.

The weather can range from extremely hot in the summer to very cold in the winter, so maybe seasonal only is the way forward as business only requirements will be limited.

LPA and TFS like AGP already have four carriers competing on them, Madrid was a coup but while I understand Norwegian's need to get a foothold in the established markets I find it irritating that most of our airlines, like Flybe last year, cannot seem to sustain ventures into untapped routes.

However it hasnt failed yet to my knowledge, we are just jumping to conclusions. Madrid may be bookable tomorrow or indeed next week for the winter, who knows ????? Lets wait a bit longer before we right off Madrid.
Dont really mind if BCN isnt available, ZB and FR and Vueling will offer this destination.

Lets have Oslo instead of BCN for winter from DY please ????/

I do think we are jumping the gun a little here... al we know is that the winter times for one route has been announced. there has been no official announcement yet. more routes could be added and routes could be lost.

For an airline also, its rare for them to only run a single flight for an airport for an entire season... as such, I think ts time to watch this space and see what come of it. im just glad to see that Norwegian will be an all-year-round fixture and BHX

:whiteflag:
Ok, you're right, we are getting way ahead of ourselves, let's enjoy the pictures of famous Scandinavians while we have them  and then see what happens. If one route is staying as nwoody2001 said, then NAX must have something else for 2016... mustn't they?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
