The staff always suffer when companies go out of business or downsize. I never felt that WOW was completely committed to BRS. They were up against easyJet on the Bristol-Keflavik sector and there may not have been enough passengers to use the USA connections because once the additions such as refreshments etc were added the flights were sometimes not that much cheaper than using some of the BRS hubs to the USA or even travelling to LHR for a direct service. Some of the long delays into BRS when passengers missed connecting flights didn't help their cause either.

I believe that WOW could be a good deal when everything clicked but there always that uncertainty, at least in my eyes.

It is sad when airlines go out of business but that has always been the nature of the industry. At the moment things seem particularly gloomy with a number of airlines either having disappeared or struglling.

Wow Air have reached agreement in principle with Indigo Partners for an investment in Wow Air current CEO and Investor will remain as main shareholder.

A good thing was it left Easyjet to the route their selves. Easyjet must be happy with pax figures, and it wonders if easyjet would have kept the route going with point to point pax with both airlines operateing KEF.

Except that the whole point of WOW was to provide transatlantic connections and for BRS it gave them another airline. Obviously we don't know what happened but WOW being left alone to operate KEF for the airport at the time would've been the better option especially if they could have got them to grow the route.

WOW was not the most reliable airline at BRS as we discussed when they were operating. Long delays were not uncommon leading to passengers missing their transatlantic connections at Keflavik. Their customer service received frequent appalling reports on sites such as Skytrax. Furthermore, everything on board had to be paid for which usually put up the overall flight cost significantly.

I remember BRS announced it as a flight to USA and failed to mention the stopover in Iceland.

According to research mentioned in this article, 95% of WOW's passenger traffic in 2018 was to/from Iceland, with the transatlantic connectivity a small proportion of its overall passenger numbers. Although the BRS service ceased in 2017 if this was typical of the situation prior to 2018 WOW was competing mainly against easyJet on P2P at BRS.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
