Yeah and i was really enjoying it until they started talking about "Boobs and Bums" in the cockpit o_O
It was the female flight attendant who brought up the subject asking the 'eligible' young first officer which attribute he preferred. I don't know whether the film makers put her up to it. It was a good job the male pilot didn't broach this or there would be shoals of complaints about a sexist attitude and being demeaning to women.

It was a bit of a silly interlude and in my opinion added nothing to the programme.

the most interesting thing I picked up from the Easyjet ITV programme was how some airports only allow captains to land, ie Kos, Heraklion and Thessaloniki, would be interesting to know if any UK airports are captain 'only' landings, maybe London City? Presumably Birmingham has no restrictions, although our crosswinds can often make it difficult! ;)

I've heard that London City is captain's only landing - though it will depend on the airline.

Bristol can be tricky at times, I'm told. With the amount of flights by easyJet there I don't think it's a captain-only landing airport though.

Thats interesting. So even if not an emergency it's not a hard and fast rule?

As I understand it - which may be completely wrong - the airport itself doesn't set who can land aircraft there. Its up to the airline to decide. For instance it may be that at LCY, BACF only let Captains land, whilst Flybe will let both Captains and First Officers land.

Obviously, if there's an emergency where for some reason the captain is unable to land the aircraft, one would assume the first officer would be allowed to - although in the case of LCY, I expect if that situation arose, they'd probably divert to another, "simpler" airport.

I think some airlines make Madeira a captain's only landing. In that case, there's not many, if any, airports you can divert to! :nailbiting:

Gibraltar is captains only certainly for Monarch

Ray, a nice clip of Mo, a man who has the appreciation of sports and athletics followers world-wide and who clearly believes in Birmingham's credentials to host the Commonwealth Games. How strange then that two of the three comments that followed it, from wherever they came, were derogatory....

Sadly, we live in an age where 'spoilers' are a tool of the social media classes and they are used for a variety of reasons, both locally or further afield. If you have an agenda, rubbish it or your opponent. So, i am sure that in the run-up to the day when the UK's decision as to who will be our choice for the Commonwealth Games is made, we are going to see more of this kind of activity.

I believe that Brum's case to host is the best and i hope it wins on that basis. I would feel very sad if any of us here in the Midlands was to do anything that would denigrate the efforts being made by our rivals in Liverpool.

Let the best city win - and i hope that is Brum....

The sad thing is most of those comments come from Brummies themselves :vomit: I say to them if you hate Brum that much p-ss off and go and live somewhere else and i dont normally swear.

Not restricted to Birmingham. I read both the Bristol and Plymouth newspapers on line on a regular basis and residents in those cities are forever running the places down and citing other places as the sort of city their's should be. It's a case of people always thinking the grass is greener over the hill when most of the time it's not.

As a born Brummie I can relate to the parochial negativity being uttered. I believe it is because care not to witness decline but celebrate growth when an if it happens. Birmingham the city of, has one huge opportunity with winning the Commonwealth Games, and the Airport Needs to get moving on the development it needs or become serial losers.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
