Until they find a way of getting around that.Think you can buy specialy lined wallets to prevent it.
I've just watch a piece on BBC News 24 about cybercrime. It's frightening how relatively easy it is for anyone of even moderate computer skills to get hold of software and programs on the so-called 'Dark Web' that will open up all sorts of criminal cyber doors.
I'm sure I'm a dinosaur when it comes to such things but I won't run any bank or savings accounts online. I might lose out a bit with interest but I believe that if it's possible to hack into the Pentagon then it will surely be possible to hack into my bank account.
It was brought home to me a few years ago when I booked some accommodation online with a credit card only to find that within a day someone had used my credit card fraudulently. The credit card company did brilliantly. Their system recognised an unusual payment and prompty blocked the card. It led to some inconvenience and a little embarrassment for my wife when she tried using her card on the same account in a local shop to find it had been blocked - we weren't aware of the fraudulent attempt at that time.
There are things such as low-cost airline travel where the Internet is the only realistic way to buy but I'm always very cautious, and in fact we now have a second credit card with a low spending limit that we only use for Internet spending, and only then when there is no alternative to buying something online.
I'm sure that at some point in the future credit/debit cards and whatever future developments in that field come along will be the only way to spend, but I doubt that I shall be around then. For some reason I keep getting emails exhorting me to go along the Bitcoin route. I assume that's what they are from the email heading because I never open them.
