Emirates 2 Class 615 seater A380 fleet update:-

A6-EOP hasn't flown since 30th June, at DXB
A6-EOQ currently in maintenance being prepared for service entry at DXB since 14/03/23
A6-EOR currently in maintenance being prepared for service entry at DXB since 18/05/23
A6-EOS currently in maintenance being prepared for service entry at DXB since 22/05/23
A6-EOX flew from storage at DWC to DXB for maintence/service entry preparation today
A6-EOY still stored DWC
A6-EUN in service
A6-EUO in service
A6-EUP in service
A6-EUQ in service
A6-EUX in service
A6-EUY in service
A6-EUZ still stored DWC
A6-EVA in service
A6-EVB in service

Looks like it's taking them around 4 months to get the aircraft back in service, so possible A6-EOQ in service for the end of July, A6-EOR & EOS end of September, A6-EOY November?

On that estimate maybe the 615 seater fleet could all be back in service by January 2024, so maybe EK37/38 might be upgrade then?

No idea. HD has always been 615 seater so there's probably three infants thrown in there for good luck. The main thing it's going out full and it's not something that captain sees every day from what I can gather.

Impressive 😍

If the link doesn't work....it's an X post from yesterday's captain on the EK40...pax load 618 👌
Great find! (y)

I remember flying on A6-EUX flew some years ago, the cabin crew said other than a couple of no shows it was a full flight.

I always remember a bloke yelling at the cabin crew "What time do you call this?" when being handed his meal tray. We were in sat in row 86 (third from last row on the lower deck) and our food was served about 2.5 hours after the meal service had begun! He was politely advised to sit in one of the front rows next time.

a few comments on the "Airport Action" stream this evening saying the A380 will be back double daily from September!! We all know this is not going to happen!

Emitrates still have 7 615 seated aircraft unavailable, A6-EOQ has now been in maintenance at Dubai DXB for 5 months, seems to be taking them ages to get them flying again, are they gertting re-painted into the new livery, or having a new interior fitted as well?

There is plenty of demand for BHX to go double daily now, but ultimately we are waiting on Emirates getting these aircraft back in the air, so its just wait and see, but if it takes over 5 months to get them back in the air, are we looking at the start of the summer schedules at the end of March 2024 now?

A6-EOY has just flown from storage at DWC to DXB today, presumably for maintenance & service entry, so give it 5 months and it might be back in service! :ROFLMAO:

strangely that just leaves the youngest 615 seater A380 A7-EUZ, as the only aircraft still stored at DWC

so just maybe, a good chance all 615 seaters will be in service come the start of the summer 2024 schedules at the end of March?

When it was announced that the A380 was to return there were rumours that we'd see two by the end of the year.

It seems pretty unlikely now but hopefully we'll see it next year at some point.

Been reported to take slightly longer now due to the wings been extensively checked for any spar cracks

If demand is excessively strong and high. Then I’d expect they would have announced the A380 to return by now.Yoo got to remember the airport cannot be greedy and it’s just only recently begun it’s A380 operations.

I can see emirates operating a morning service if demand is high

Looking at a comparison of double daily A380 or A380 plus double daily B777-300 (HD), compared to the current operation gives -

Seats
A380 = 615

B777-300 HD = 427

That's 1042 seats per day in each direction, currently.

Going to 2 x A380 per day adds 615 - 427 = 188 seats

Total of 1230 seats per day in each direction

That's 188 / 1042 x 100 = 18% increase

Adding a second daily B777-300 HD (A380 + B777 + B777) = 615 + 427 = 427 + 1469 seats

That's 427 / 1042 x 100 = 41% increase

41% is quite a sizeable increase, but also adds a feed into and out of a third EK hub at DXB. I would imagine that the current EK hubs that are fed at DXB are the most popular for customers from/to BHX.

Alternatively another option a three daily B777- 300HD would be 1281 seats giving more connection choices plus loads of freight capacity making at least one esteemed member a happy bunny 😊.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
