Do you know what it was doing at CWL? A brief scan of the Internet suggests it's mainly a sort of flying test bed.

It's a testing aircraft but i don't know what it is actually testing but i have noticed on Flightradar 24 that it's chosen the same route to Vienna and the same route back to Cardiff every day. So whether that is part of the testing idk.

Apparently it's been testing onboard Wi-Fi systems.

A very old Boeing 757. It was the fifth 757 to come off the Boeing production line - in 1983. Eastern Airlines of the USA bought it from new and it remained with them until 1991 when Eastern went out of business. Its next owner was MyTravel Airways (subsequently integrated into Thomas Cook Airlines in 2008) with this company purchasing the aircraft in 1995. It stayed with MyTravel until 2005 when Honeywell acquired it. It might have visited CWL on revenue-earning service in its MyTravel days.

I haven't used CWL for quite a while and can't remember if an air bridge was used when I was there last. How many are there and are they (or it if only one) used regularly. If so, is there any particular airline that always or mainly uses air bridges at the airport?

There are 3. I've seen Qatar, TUI and Vueling use the one on stand 7. Stand 10 tends to Airbus aircraft so mostly Vueling and used to be Thomas Cook while. From what I've seen the one on stand 9 seems to be rarely used especially by KLM who are the main user's of the stand.
The ones in 7 and 9 are the 'new' ones from Gatwick.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
