I think TCX would operate two weekly and certainly summer only.

I can't see Thomson entering the NYC market.

Flybe is a good guess but I'd say with a Dash 8 with many more stops! ;)

If it's a British Airline then i'd go for Virgin 4 weekly on a 787 and then they could add flights to Orlando and Cancun and maybe even Vegas.

It's most likely Norwegian, they've mentioned BHX with JFK a lot.
Norwegian would go to EWR.

And as for Virgin, I thought they said they wouldn't serve BHX, never mind with a 789. If in some way it was to happen it would probably be in the spare time of a MAN 333.

The rumoured routes from EDI and MAN to New York are meant to be EWR.

aa: “What stood out to anna.aero from your choice of destinations in the US from Barcelona was that instead of flying to New York JFK, where you already fly into from several points in Europe, you are using New York Newark. Is this due to slots or is Norwegian hinting at an airport swop in New York?”

BK: “We are operating into Newark because of slots issues at JFK. This is one of the main reasons for this new flight going into Newark instead. However it is also allowing us to test the water at Newark, because JFK and Newark in regards to inbound traffic to Europe are two different markets. What we noticed from our recent long-haul launches from Paris CDG is that the majority of passengers using the services were originating in the US. So with this it is allowing us to test the water at Newark and see if there is a potential market there.”

Thank you David - yes, this was the reason I (rightly or wrongly) assumed it was Newark.

Hi there all, I did suggest British Airways and Virgin Atlantic earlier, but know one has confirmed, yes or no if these are the two airlines that we are trying to guess who it could and might be about to operate twice weekly flights to New York City, do we get to find out who the airline is...Andyc

The addition of Orly brings the number of new routes/services for next year to 37, which I believe beats this year?

Obviously most of those come from Jet2 but there is a nice sprinkling from elsewhere.

Blue Air - 1
Fly One - 1
Jet2 - 22
Monarch - 1
Ryanair - 4
Thomas Cook - 3
Thomson - 4
Vueling - 1

Those are the amount of new routes so far, however, there is plenty more to come (y)

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
