Well that would be a surprise given that apart from sharing it with Delhi, there is no other service!!

Didn't the original Air India service to BHX (operated by B707's) serve ATQ? I know it had several stops, including Moscow and was often severely delayed.

Good for EMA of course but I’m very frustrated that BHX was unable to secure this route. connections from BHX to the south of France have been decimated of late with the loss of Avignon, Toulouse, and most glaringly, Nice remains unserved despite it being on Jet2’s network.
It’s an interesting one - you would imagine Marseille could be served by BHX. But the location of EMA would more than happily suit someone living in Birmingham as the drive isn’t too far. Coupled with the surrounding areas of EMA, I am guessing this is the reason why. Marseille not being strong enough for BHX, but strong enough for the EMA catchment. The above is a post on the EMA Ryanair thread in response to their new 2x weekly route to Marseille. It's an excellent point to make so rather than hijack the EMA thread I thought I'd bring the discussion here.
Avignon was once served by Flybe the demise of which left the route vacant and Toulouse is now nothing more than a seasonal route for TUi.
Nice has been tried twice by Jet2 but they've not yet got it to stick. Before they went bust we saw Monarch 5x weekly on the route so hopefully we may see something in the medium term?
EMA being owned by MAG probably has something to do with it.BHX could support a MRS route and do well.....PGF does just fine every year. More to it I reckon....just guessing as I don't have a squiddly idea why it went to EMA.
So is this "proposed" new airline now flying from both BHX and MAN ?
