why we can expect PIAs return to BHX - passengers from BHX to Islamabad formed the 2nd largest market for Turkish Airlines with 52000 passengers - just a smidgen less than for MAN.

I do believe PIA (or a direct flight to Pakistan) will return at some point. It's a matter of logistics, seemingly.

All eyes on the security situation this summer. If it's been resolved and we're expecting things to flow much better then add as much capacity as possible. If not and we're looking at queues again then stick with what we have, which is fairly decent growth as it is.

Besides there are one or two juicy rumours for either this winter or next year :)

With such good loads I would like to see a frequency increase from Qatar which would certainly help connectivity.

I am admittedly in the dark on this, but what's up with the security situation?

(Don't come for me, it's just a question)

Go back a few pages.

With all the hints that are being dropped I certainly hope at least one comes to fruitiion.

A regular daily morning service to the Middle East would certainly be good - if Qatar can’t commit then one of EK’s new 787-8s could be perfect.

Lots of rumours but often these things often take a long time to be officially announced, one short haul, one medium haul and one long haul is what I am told !
The work at BHX continues so I think they maybe queues again as we move into 'rolling 12m' record pax numbers by the end of February and indeed about 13.1m by end of March.
Maybe will be happier sitting around the 13.1m-13.4m levels until this building work is complete ?

When is this building work supposed to last until?

The usual expectation would be around thirty years depending on the materials used and craftsmanship
Haha I could be wrong but I think he is referring to the construction work as opposed to the lifespan of the works themselves. I could be wrong though....

As this is the route development and rumours thread thres been chatter elsewhere that Royal Jordan are looking at BHX for next year following a successful start up at STN and increasing frequency at MAN

To be honest I'd rather see frequency increases by Qatar and Saudi plus Air India (Mumbai)although I'm getting a bit jittery regarding lower loads reported at Emirates 75% lately I believe and if or when PIA start they will have varying effect on our current established operators including Turkish.

Any info on recent load factors would be appreciated.

There is no chance of Turkmenistan, for reasons rehearsed a number of times.

ETH traffic at MAN has grown quite slowly, so airports with a smaller turnover are likely to be hard work for them. Does not mean it will not happen.

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
