Depends how quickly they can get their hands on them. Any order for new aircraft will likely have a delivery time of 3 or 4 years at least. They could lease them, but that'll be more expensive in the long run.

Part of the deal could be Norwegian leasing or wet leasing them 787s. They have more on order including 3 788s

Easyjet have emerged as the front runner to acquire Air Berlin as reported HERE

Should that go through then I wonder if they will pursue any interest they may have in Monarch?

It could add weight to the rumours that Norwegian are currently leading the way?

I read the article that EJ and LH are the two front runners.

Apparently it's the LGW subsidiary of Air Berlin they are after and they'll use A320s leased from Air Berlin operating out of DUS and TXL

I believe Eurowings and Condor are taking over Air Berlin long haul flights from DUS to Caribbean.

Willie Walsh is speaking at 'Routes' in Barcelona, he reckons that the Level A330's are US$400,000 per month cheaper than Norwegians 787's.

Quite a huge difference if you are just breaking into the long haul market.

Which could be a result of IAG or more likely Iberia giving Level a big discount rather than A330s being cheaper. If IAG are willing to do that it shows how much of a threat they believe Norwegian are.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
