Let's work this one out

An airline that serves heathrow?
Second airport in UK will be BHX?
Trips will be out east?
Another ex Soviet state?
Nearly scored a goal with Baku?
A maybe exciting destination?

Ummmmmm.

So, if Uzbekistan, other than another gateway into India (Amritsar), what other attraction could the route offer?

So, if Uzbekistan, other than another gateway into India (Amritsar), what other attraction could the route offer?

I read a trip report a while back about Uzbekistan - Delhi-Amritsar-Tashkent and the author then carried onto Heathrow. The 767 left Delhi virtually empty, then filled up completely at Amritsar with the majority of passengers connecting onto Heathrow.

If it is indeed Uzbekistan returning then it’ll be Amritsar traffic they’re after, anything else would just be a bonus.

I only guess at Uzbekistan returning, i obviously don't know anything for sure like most on here.

But if you remember the pressure being put on Air India to serve Amritsar and their apparent

inability, at the moment to do so, then it would make sense.

don't underestimate the Uzbekistan option. Yes they will be after the Amritsar traffic, although with todays Air India news, they're up for a fight... but the do offer a pretty extensive network across Asia. Yes they aren't the best in terms of quality but alas, its further options and choice!

I think I would be more worried about Spicejet.

The fares on Air India look pretty high, and with up to 4 family members flying in one hit they could make big savings even with a 2 hour drive up the A50 from East Midlands etc.

You can bet your life MAG will be aggressive as they were with Hainan.

well as far as I am aware, there has been no recent suggestions that Spicejet are a) to launch EMA and b) into Amritsar?

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
