I agree, its poor that you cant fly from BHX for your business trips

IndiGo have applied to start Delhi-Europe flights next winter. Capital cities are first on the agenda (with secondary airports like LGW and ORY likely to be the beneficiaries).

I think the next 5 years or so will see lots of new long haul flights out of India. Vistara are starting off in Asia and the Gulf but have said that Europe will follow, Spicejet are looking at long haul in two years and Indigo have been talking about it for a while.

A joint venture between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines gives Vistara a lot of financial clout, should they move into long haul I can see this being a success, Singapore Airlines have done well with Scoot and can see them doing well with Vistara

Since when is Hong Kong a major European city?

Weren't there plans (I think from Indigo, though it may have been another Indian airline) to acquire the international or long haul division of Air India?
