Think we can confirm there will be zero chance that having Virgin fly out the England team out of BHX would any meaning even if they were impressed, seeing that they appear to have now given up totally on flying out of Gatwick and have said Manchester may grow again sometime in tjhe future. Whilst they were out of Skyteam there may have been a hope but now they've decjded to join them, i'm afraid that DL/AF/KL will be attempting to put the boot in them doing any kind of flying out of the regions other than what is currently offered and to focus those potential passengers to go out of AMS and CDG instead.

There was always a next to zero chance of Virgin coming to BHX we know that they only flew of BHX as the training facility is close and BHX's central location etc.
Virgin obviously take the West Midlands as part of MAN catchment.

Hi there all, does anyone have any idea of what airlines or route developments that are on the horizon at all, also any airlines interested in long haul flights from bhx to America at all...AndyC

I think I read they were in talks with an airline hoping for 2024 for US flights …. Don’t think it was jet blue as BHX are a long way down their list, also I do hope it’s for flights to a main airport !
I would personally be very very pleased if Icelandair came back soon with their choice of routes

Hopefully Play will announce BHX soon which will give us some TATL via KEF exposure

Norse Air have been operating for quite a while now. They took up the Norwegian routes transatlantic from Gatwick. My nephew used them in September to New York.

Scandinavian upping their CPH BHX service from 6 p/w to 9 p/w from Summer '23, according to SeanM1997.

A guy on twitter you might know ( Sean M ) has said another airline is interested into long haul services from Birmingham.
My guess is either:
Vistara
Singapore
Etihad
Hans Airways

Cathay or Eithiad would be nice but my money is on Spicejet if new or Qatar or Hans if he referring to one we already know

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
