Mumbai has gone quiet, has it been dropped? Or possibly a new one for 2024. Maybe it will appear in the slot report due out soon.
Manchester claimed they had the AI Mumbai which appeared in their last ACL slot allocation for this winter.

Claimed from Feb 2024.However AI did not mention MAN when they updated their expected new routes to launch this winter 2 weeks ago.

Now rumoured as MAY.However you never know with AI so could easily start BHX, we will see..

When would say it should be starting?
It might be a coincidence, but I thing the Titan flight we currently have are flying the same frequency to China as the planned Air China flights

Not sure if it's a co-oncidence, but our current Titan A330F flts are 3 times a week to China and move to STN soon.

The Air China flts were also to be 3 times a week and one rumour was that STN now had the contract. So have Titan now got the contract and moving it to STN ?

Although BHX said some weeks ago they hoped they would start before XMAS from BHX ?

The ACL report whenever it's out, may throw some light on it ?

I am not sure Manchester has claimed anything about this route. AI's CEO has previously mentioned it. The ACL winter allocation includes it. I am not in UK but the figures I have seen still suggest that MAN is the largest unserved European route from BOM with BHX further down the list. So it would make sense if they prioritised it.

In the same way with China, i don't see India being an "either/or" for the UK market. I don't see AI launching routes to MAN needs to be at the expense of BHX. AI is due to become one of the largest airlines in the world with record plane orders on their books so they will need to put those plane somewhere. With our historic link with the country, the UK is an obvious place to start.

I somehow doubt that Emirates will allow Fly Dubai to enter the lucrative UK market. I expect the Dreamliners to be used to increase capacity on South Asian routes, maybe Russia, and to open smaller destinations in the Far East.

If I try and open the link you provided, I get 'This Page is Not Available'.
However, on quoting your post, I get a much longer link which does work. If I try and include the longer link, it gets abreviated to the one you posted.

Comparing BHX - an Emirates route with over 2,000 seats and an A380 daily - with LTN/CWL - airports that have zero direct links with Dubai and the Middle East - is borderline offensive lol!

Expect Emirates to go back to double daily A380 later next year at BHX.

longer term it will have to be double daily high density B779X , once the high density A380s get retired in perhaps a decade.Even then big fall in capacity.
Doubt fly Dubai is going anywhere with BHX, especially with emirates going double daily A380 next year

That’s some ball gazing you have there!

BHX-DXB has been 3x daily in the past with 1x 388 and 2x 77W, no reason 3x daily 779 couldn’t be an option in a post 388 world. By then however DWC would be ramping up in operation so slot capacity either-side shouldn’t be an issue.

But not beyond the realms of reality!

As for Bristol, I believe the plan is to launch with Emirates mainline once the 787s arrive.

Especially now they've switched up their 787 order, ditching the -9s and going for a mix of -8s and -10s, I'd expect to see the 787-8s at Bristol and maybe Belfast?

The Air China have stopped showing now on the screens, so looks like the slots have been withdrwn.
The Titan is a different destination so I dont think they have replaced the Air China?
Titan are based at Stansted so makes sense to move back there as soon as the can.

I really am gutted reading this. The cynic in me thought that route would never start but the optimist got the better of me. What a shame.

Some equal ball gazing from you too.🤣

The main thing is EK are doing well at BHX currently 😃

EK would have lots of options, for a morning flt in the future.B779,B778,A359 B787-8, B787-10. Shorter term probably 77W.

One of the issues for BHX is we are a 2 class airport for them. They tried a 3 class 77W on a morning and it was dropped due to low front end demand.

With a much smaller 2 class fl

Only at BHX would you allegedly have BHX spokesman (if we believe the quote allegedly from one put up by Loadmaster air freight article) saying it was expected to start before Xmas and it looks like was never going to happen.

What were the loads like when Emirates had the morning flight pre Covid? Reason I ask is flight times are about connectivity and I wonder how that would fit with transitioning through Dubai to Far East/Australia?

This is only anecdotal, but I flew out on the 20th March. J and Y were full. They moved some peeps from economy to the last few seats in J as Y was overbooked. On way back the A380 was again 100% full as I asked the cabin manager. Anyone's guess as to why it was pulled 🤔

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
