Oh for the intrigue.... But is there a cryptic twist to this? If the global pax figure is 10m+ could Ray Finkle's post be referring to pax in one direction, ie approx 6m currently into the UK. And, therefore, approx 6m out of the UK. If so that could mean Wizair and BHX, LTN and EDI. It's just a thought....

If what I hear is correct there is definitely more to come from Wizz, I'm not convinced about a base though (as much as I'd love one). I think even Luton, with it's massive operation, only sees a few night stops.

Time will tell and if I'm wrong then I will hold my hands up, if I'm right I will just quietly smile to myself :)

The main thing is it looks as if we'll be getting a new base in the autumn

The advert states that they carried '6 million passengers across continental Europe'.

The only thing is Ray, were never going to know if you were right or wrong lol.

This has been rumoured for quite a few months now, originally for 2017 but I guess it could be bought forward. I must stress that rumours are just that and mean nothing until confirmed. Things can and do change.

Lets just say that if it's true then we may see an extra Jet or 2 at Birmingham in the future.

Well, Jet2 doesn't fit into the advert specs.

Has more than 3 UK bases and carried more than 6 million passengers last year.

Not saying jet2 won't eventually come to BHX, but, it doesn't sound like the airline in the advert.

The advert intrigues as it states they carried 6 million people 'on the continent'. If that refers to Continental Europe, then, could be Transavia or Sun Express. Both have a limited presence in the UK currently.

Oh my god, how did none of us not guess this ??

Mmmmmmmm Jet2, i think they would snuggle into BHX quite well with there bucket and spade offerings. Hope it comes off and confirmed.

Well, if you see my post of 9.08pm yesty, some of us had already made that guess..... But as to whether we are correct, we will have to wait and see. There are clearly those with a contrary view..

There are quite a few possibilities.

Jet2 seem to fit with the rumours and all the stats I can find show that they had a little over 6 million pax in 2014, they seem to be growing by around 500,000 every year.

I may be totally wrong though and until confirmed we'll not know for sure. The main thing is that there is something happening.

Unless the advert meant '3 new bases' and not that they have 3 bases over all. Jet2 have 6 UK bases alone so don't fit into the 'soon be flying from 3 UK airport'.

Anyone thought of ringing the agency as an enquiry to ask which airline it is?

Adverts are worded to sound appealing to attract potential candidates. 'Shortly flying to three UK airports' doesn't necessarily mean that they don't already have a UK presence, of course it doesn't mean mean that they do either.

I'm going for Birmingham starting in the autumn with two more to follow for S17, which is why only BHX is recruiting at the moment.

I think one of the others may well be BRS.

If I was a betting man, I'd say Jet2 were looking at BHX/BRS and either LPL or a London airport, possibly STN.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
