London and Chicago are obviously linked but yet no need to mention that?

But its the MAN supporters who start the debate, if you are better than that then why cant you help yourselves and stay off this thread. This is about BHX and the city of Birmingham to which the city is generally described as the second city.
ethanegcc made second city comments only the other week on the MAN thread (cant remember which one), the only difference was that no BHX supporters fuelled the fire, we stayed away.
BrumX, you started the debate this time, don't give me that.
I'm genuinely not interested in the second city debate. It's dull, it's boring, it's nonsense, it's old, it's no longer relevant. Cities are going in their own directions, lets just leave it at that.
I'm not condoning the MAN supporters coming on here, I'm saying this as everyone needs to stop. I've already stopped reading SSC because of all the s**t posted on there, we don't need it on here.
Southwest doing transatlantic flights would be massive! They make Ryanair look small! No comment![]()
Something bigger then a B752 should be used.
Look, this is a BHX thread and if we want to talk about local matters then i respectfully suggest that posters from outside the region refrain from making any comment whatsoever.
Look, this is a BHX thread and if we want to talk about local matters then i respectfully suggest that posters from outside the region refrain from making any comment whatsoever. While there is a SSC thread, nonetheless that topic might come up in terms of our own parochial pride. I am frankly not interested in anything that happens in MAN but i will defend my right to talk about the city of my birth, its history, its culture and the endearing terms with which we refer to it, whether it be Second City, Brummagem or whatever.
Checked in this morning on AA131, check in girl had a star alliance badge on her lapel.
As someone who hasn't posted often on here I think I can speak from a more neutral standpoint.Look, this is why I suggested the 'second city' debate be left of the forum, as it creates arguments whether you like it or not.
I understand there is civic pride from both sides, I understand that people are passionate about their cities (I'm a MAN fan but don't reside in Manchester) and I have no horse in the 'second city' debate. That was never in question and it personally doesn't offend me, I frankly couldn't care less, but, it's what the debate brings out from both sides that gets ugly.
I've not once suggested the cities as a whole can not be brought into the thread, because yes, demographics do play a part in understanding how the city works, but, I just think the 'second city' debate never leads to any good. It's not that the debate should be censored fully, it's just, well, look At this thread already, need I say more. I've never encountered a debate about this that has ended well, and as said, I enjoy this forum for the fact the vast majority of us get on for the best part, let's not ruin it over a debate that I don't think will ever be settled in my lifetime at least, it's pointless.
There's no point telling people 'your an outsider, don't post about it etc', I may be a MAN fan, but, I am an enthusiast all round so have an interest in BHX too, my family on my dads side hails from Birmingham, so, It's a bit unfair to tell someone they can't post because of their perceived location.
On top of all that, the moderator of this thread has asked for it to be left off here, and above all, we need to respect those requests.
Check in staff for American are employed by Aviator and not American, last night one of the gate staff on Air India had a Pakistan flag badge on her lanyard, lots of staff have different badges they wear each day.Checked in this morning on AA131, check in girl had a star alliance badge on her lapel.
