For those that may be 'in the know' is it feasible bhx could still see the below sometime in 2017 ?

TAP - 6 new EU destinations yet to be announced ?
Austrian - hoping for Vienna these would be ideal not sure if Austrian have finalised summer 17 yet ?
Rouge - as above not yet finalised summer 17 so hope ?
Delta - were close to a service so perhaps we on hold rather than cancelled?
Finnair - I'm guessing summer 17 finalised but could we see them for winter 17/18 ?
Shaheen - ??

I'd hope that BHX is indeed one of new routes TAP are set to announce and I don't think it's to far fetched to think Lisbon could follow the likes of Madrid, Warsaw, Bucharest, Prague etc by going un-served for years and then suddenly having two or more carriers on the route. TAP's E190s would be ideal to open the route....incidentally Austrian Airlines operate the same type which would also suit BHX-VIE.

I think Austrian TAP and Finnair could all potentially make a good go of a 4 to 6 weekly E90 service ex bhx.

Fingers crossed we get at least one of them for next year.

Austrian operates the larger E195, rather than the E190.

TAP is perfectly feasible and despite recent cutbacks, seem to now be expanding further.

I don't think Delta will happen until s18 - Finnair maybe in w17.

Hi there IanFarquharson, any news on which airline it will be at all....Andyc

Pure speculation on my part but Norwegian are allegedly operating into Newark so would rule them out. This would leave Delta but not daily wouldn't fit their profile so I'm going out on a limb with either Jet 2 getting ambitious or Thomas Cook.

I would say, if not Norwegian it must be TCX 332.

If it were TCX, would they use an A330 (322 pax) or one of their B757's (280 pax)? The latter better matches the kind of capacity currently provided and 3 are being transferred from Condor to TCX in early 2017.

The 757s being transferred are 753s (don't have sufficient range for a full load in certain conditions) and are primarily intended to replace Condor 753 operation in MAN to destinations such as ZTH/PMI/ACE

However, I do think 332 is overkill, considering a carrier has just pulled out and the possible introduction of Norweigian.

Fair point about the 753.

Assuming it is TCX, it would depend how often they plan on flying the route. With United flying 4 weekly, and say TCX flying once a week, that would provide about 8600 seats per month both ways. In comparison, January 2016 saw ~ 8500 pax, whilst August saw ~ 17,800 pax.

Alternatively, Thomson already have some long haul ops from BHX. Would they consider flying BHX to NYC?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.

Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
