Scorpions - Still Loving You

A German Rock band, who I feel never get the recognition that they truly deserve (at least in the UK).
I love the part at 2mins 10 seconds, when Klaus Meine gets the audience to sing along. I've been at concerts where that happened and have to say that the adrenalin rush is intoxicating.

Rush - Tom Sawyer

A funny introduction from 'South Park' and there are also some shots of Geddy Lee's keyboard showing a small representation of Stone Henge. Is this a reference to the wonderfully funny rockumentary 'This is Spinal Tap', where the band want a model of Stone Henge, only to find it in miniature when they get on stage?

I might be a bit of a cultural philistine but I was bitterly disappointed when I saw Stonehenge for real. Was expecting it to be much bigger than it really is.

I think a lot of people share that opinion.

Rush - YYZ

Sticking with 'airport' themed music, here is Rush -YYZ

Yes, 'YYZ' refers to Toronto Pearson airport. The band originates from Toronto and I guess this was how they wanted to honour their home city. Like Mark King of Level 42, Geddy Lee of Rush is an exceptional bass guitarist. YYZ is an instrumental.

I'm not familiar with that piece of music by Level 42, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The 'slap bass' playing by Mark King is fantastic. I don't know why, but the 'fun' posts on F4A seem to have dwindled during the pandemic. Fridays and Saturdays used to be great fun.

Hadn't seen them for over 30 years until a few weeks ago at Symphony Hall. Still as good as last time

Pink Floyd - Hey Hey Rise Up (feat. Andriy Khlyvnyuk of Boombox)

And the story behind it...

Whilst I don't understand the lyrics, my thoughts and prayers go out to the Ukrainian people who are suffering so terribly in this totally unjust war 😢😢😢

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
