Err... bit late with this link. The blurb on the 1st anniversary of the service in December 2019 had this:

"In the last year, the airline has carried over 17,500 passengers and flown close to 1.5 million miles between Manchester and Addis Ababa......
Tim Bettney, Ethiopian Airlines’ Traffic and Sales manager for Manchester added, “The first year of operation has been very successful. Addis Ababa has not surprisingly been our top destination with onward routes to Zimbabwe, Cape Town and Malawi proving very popular"

I can''t recall when Ethiopian restarted normal service after covid but 'over 17,500 passengers' sounds on the low side to me at 337 per week average. I suppose if loads were low in the first part of the year, an overall average of 50-60 per flight could be correct.
Perhaps our statastician, Scottie Dog, can shed some light.

Okay I've done some calculations and have got the following results!!

12 months- December 2021 to November 2022 was 42,563 passengers based on the CAA reports.
During the time up to and including October the available seats were split 50/50 with Brussels. From November 2022 there was no specific split with Geneva and therefore, technically, Manchester originating passenger could in theory take 100pc of the seats.
My records therefore give an average load-factor of 75.65pc for the 12 months although November was down to 45.17pc - but a 50/50 split would have made that figure 90.34pc.

Maybe I'll need to query the airline's own data!!

** STOP PRESS **

The article is dated 13th December 2019

Just to clarify, I was thinking 44,000 pax to 31 Dec. 2022. I would expect Dec'22 to be more than Dec'21.
Either way, over 35,000 in that press release, while not strictly wrong, understates how well they did.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
