BUT Jet2 will not set up a base diluting their MAN base. Taking assets from somewhere else when you can deliver a better profit in that x place. They can funnel all LPL customers through their MAN 18 aircraft base (or is it more?!). Gone are the regional Jet2 days - they are now main stage.

Thats my point. And look at TCX/TOM they won't either. TOM has routes on it's most profitable cash cow (PMI).

Jet2 flew from BLK but offered only capacity on those trunk routes. Also BLK was set up the days of small bases with small aircraft. At the current pace of expansion and level i would say LPL is off the base list. (I do not see a 4 aircraft base at LPL).
It isn't 4 it will be 8 easyjet based aircraft for 2018, I don't know what Ryanair is, but again will be a decent number based, because there is the demand from Liverpool.

In my opinion Jet2 are missing business by not being in Liverpool , Easyjet, Ryanair and B!ue Air are all expanding for 2018

Would you therefore not be better discussing this on the General Thread for Liverpool?

Only a thought.

I have also heard suggested on more than one occasion that both Easyjet and Ryanair are the main reason why Jet2 has not launched services from Liverpool.

Because the original poster mentioned about Jet2 not setting up a base at LPL due to the high number of aircraft at LPL by easyJet and Ryanair. I was trying to explain this is probably due to the amount of aircraft based down at MAN and the fact they would want to funnel the traffic down there. Similar to what Thomson and Thomas cook do with LPL customers.

I have heard the new Venice route has got off to a good start. Last Saturdays flight was full and the flight in from Venice today had 151 passengers. Check in staff at Liverpool reported the route is selling very well.

I din't realise that LPL didn't have a link to VCE. Or was it one of those that were transfered to Manchester?

Hi
I'm not sure, it is a bit surprising there wasnt a link so maybe it was transferred. Good that' it available for passengers now anyway and seemingly has been well received.

It seems like the Mahon route is not showing available for next year, bit odd as the Balearic islands are popular. Hopefully someone else will fill their gap.

According to a post on the other forum there is supposed to be some news regarding Easyjet and LPL announced tomorrow.

Mahon has been dropped . Still a gap on Saturday schedule so maybe a couple more routes. One of the A320s at moment does nothing after Jersey run, so aircraft free.
Good to see Easyjet expanding at Liverpool again. The new routes are twice a week from late July.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
