Strange you shouldn't mention the "Floss" my 7 year old grandaughter got me doing it last Sunday I'd never heard of it, not a pretty sight no photos were allowed !!!

Our particular craze as kids was racing our home made trollies down the street line abreast to the finishing line chalked across the road.

My eldest is constantly doing the 'floss', unlike rollo I've managed to resist the constant "you try it Daddy".

Our school had a craze of prizing the logo badges off cars and wearing them on a neck chain, Volkswagen were the main targets but BMW were also popular. I seem to remember it stemming from The Beastie Boys releasing (You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party).

It ended up getting so out of hand the local neighbourhood police officer (remember them?) came in to give a very stern talk one morning during assembly.

Hmm yes I remember that too. It was VW badges here. I don't remember BMW badges being a target here though.

Stilts enjoyed a resurgence in the village in the early seventies followed by lolly sticks in the spokes of your bike. Seemed to be suffering a lot of punctures then realised the valves were being undone by the wood every time the wheels went round.

I got caught up in the craze surrounding Chopper bikes. My brother was given one but I was subjected to a staid, unexciting Raleigh bike. I once took the Chopper and could not reconcile the smaller front wheel with the physics of locomotion. It broke and we have not spoken since. Not even sure he remains alive, the rift was that deep.

Big problem with the homemade trolley....

In/out sloping drive. More by good luck than judgement there weren't some serious injuries. No helmets in those days. At least the hospital was only just down the road!! :doctor::hurting::inpain::blackeye:

Indeed, Dudley Road became a second home to me, with regular lectures about ladylike behaviour. Never ridden a Tescomobile though, surprised Too Gear did not do it!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
