I don't need to divulge, but one LPL forum on another site is particularly shocking when it comes to completely unwarranted MAN-bashing. If you know it you know it.

F4A is very civil in comparison!

I have never meant to be bashing others as I am a Londoner not Manc just if I beleive in something I will stand up for it

this is getting more deranged. What do you think you are standing up for? the ability to make stupid accusations that the only people who moan about MAN are scousers?

As I have already said I love Manchester and London but some of the slagging off of Manchester just isn`t true and I same if it was Birmingham because if it it not true I will stand up and say

oh ok, there seem to be quite a few people who disagree with you on MAN though - and I don’t see it as some kind of scouse conspiracy.

so what have your recent experiences been like at MAN?

OK! but I`m not going to stand there and support someone say worst in Europe which I know is totally wrong, there are things that need to be improved like parking charges and and there was the security
mess, but as we all know T1 is going in a couple of years and T2 is still being worked on. I have never critised BHX and won`t because it is not my place too.

Hi I have a quick question not used manchester in ages once I've gone through security and I'm airside, is it possible to visit another terminal? My partner ordered something click and collect and selected the wrong terminal and it can't be changed we are flying from terminal 3 but the shop is in terminal 1 is that possible? Must be like 10 years since I last flew from man so I'm unsure

no

It is no longer possible. The door is restricted.

It was possible during covid, because there was no security at T3 . T1 and T3 pasengers used T1 security and T3 passengers were then able to go to T3 gates.

Not anymore. If they can’t change it (how unhelpful) try and cancel it

Good evening all.

I have a question for any dispatchers out there or anyone else associated with getting flights away from Manchester!!

I'am due to travel on the outbound Egyptair to Cairo on 14th November. I have noticed that generally the inbound flights arrive either early or within 10-20 minutes.

However the outbound from Manchester more often than not can be 60-90 or 120 minutes late leaving Manchester. As it arrives in Cairo at 2125 on schedule then add on the delays it means arrival in Cairo towards midnight!! Not good for pax like myself. I'am staying in Cairo not transferring.

I'am aware of various issues that could arise affecting the outbound flights having worked for 16 years in Mag Security, ie late pax at gate, messing in duty free etc, no ABM wheelchairs available, also ATC issues.

What is it that causes these delays to this flight.

Given the situation in Israel as well I'm looking at the UK Government travel advice. Any comments welcomed.

Cheers from Bilko.

I’m flying to Spain on Saturday on a 0930 flight. Was going to use twilight bag drop but just seen that it’s only for flights before 0830… is there any chance of getting away with it if I just turn up on Friday night with my luggage?

First welcome to Forums4airports

Im sorry but no it wouldn't be possible.

They've pushed the arrival time in BCN later by 2h50m

Seems they're switching to EI-DLF to complete the journey to MAN.

EI-DLF just lifting from Stansted en-route to Manchester.

(I'm signing off now - have a good break!)

My most recent visit involved a broken lift in the multi story meaning I had to cart several heavy cases down several flights of stairs, significant delays at security, no coaches available to off load arriving passengers from the inbound LHR flight delaying my outbound flight by over an hour to LHR result a missed connection to ORD and another missed connecting to my onward flight to BNA. Add to this my luggage never made it from MAN and only arrived in BNA after 72 hours.

Sounds like you were very unlucky. Those car parks have multiple lifts; I've never known them all fail simultaneously. 99.3% of passengers using MAN got through security in 15 minutes or less in December, according to recently published stats (my own December travel was fine; January flights for me next week). And it is very unusual indeed for a British Airways LHR flight to require buses at MAN - I have never experienced this. I have always used a terminal stand on Pier A. However, I can identify with issues making connections at LHR. I am generally wary of booking LHR flight transfers due to the high propensity for domestic shuttle cancellations when there is any form of disruption down there.

You must have paid alot to take several heavy suitcases to Nashville. I hope that you receive some level of recompense for your inconvenience.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
