Ah ok, poor reputation previously. Thanks.
What are your opinions on the BA meltdowns? I ask as you are clearly very opinionated about the Manchester issues and like to highlight the woes at every opportunity claiming the issues affect you and acquaintances, but given there is a BA tail in your avatar and clearly a regular user of the airline, I’m surprised you haven’t been highlighting their issues on the relevant threads given they clearly ongoing and prolonged problems and have the potential to affect you adversely too?

happy for that to be answered in the relevant thread but if the Manchester issues clearly give you reasons to comment, I’d be seriously questioning motive if you then try and claim the BA issues have zero relevance to you given how regularly you use them. Just saying.

Delays departing & arriving seems to be a problem at most airports in the U.K. at the momenT, I dare say this will be all over the media next week.

You are desperate to deflect aren’t you :)

I'm flying from. Liverpool on Thursday afternoon, I will see if there has been any delays through security. The management have stated they do not expect untoward queuing, but I will be able to see first hand.

I’d hope they don’t have any delays given the comparatively tiny amount of flights.

No deflection, was genuinely curious. As said, you have been very vocal about Manchester claiming you have a vested interest. But it’s clear you have a vested interest in BA also, yet not a single jot of criticism directed at them from yourself on here given their recent issues. To talk about one doesn’t mean you are deflecting from the other? Or at you incapable of directing 2 sets of criticism at the same time or something?

And you wonder why some accuse you of having an agenda and why I have previously questioned the true nature of your travels…..

Lol, you have a very creative mind I think, what is it you think I am keeping secret? There really isn't anything relevant that I feel I could tell you, I never have worked in aviation, I own no financial interest in any aviation companies, I am not partnered with anyone in aviation. No aviation/travel company gives me anything such as freebies.

I have an interest in MAN because I often travel through. Outside LHR it is the airport I use most - but you know this as I have provided my travel details (details you don't wish to provide for yourself).

My interest in BA is that it is the airline I travel with most - again you know this because I have shared my travel details. I haven't commented on this forum about the IT issues, but you know all about them because they have quite rightly received national attention in the media - this is the media you claim picks on MAN and never reports on any other travel issues of course ;)

My agenda is I want MAN to stop being rubbish and improve.

I look forward to some details on your travel and background - I seem to remember asking how many times you used MAN but you declined to answer - which is fine you don't have to. But it seems ironic that despite all the information I have given, and the fact you have given none about your own travel, you are still trying to throw accusations around of an "agenda".

Now tbh I would like to move off this personal nonsense and lets talk about the subject of this thread, but that's up to you really whether you want to keep pursuing this silliness.

some upset football fans today.

Travellers have been urged to arrive at Manchester Airport early as queues are so long they leave the terminal.
Most recently, Liverpool FC fans heading to Lisbon for the Benfica match have been met with delays due to the long queues for security. Fans have branded Manchester Airport an 'absolute shambles' as they report waiting for up to two hours to get through.
One fan told the ECHO that queues were hours long and they lead to further delays with planes not taking off on time. The fan, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: "It was a disaster. After we finally got through security and onto the plane, I fell a kip just before take off but I woke up and we've not even left."

He added: "Flights were delayed because of the knock-on effect of the queues but on our flight someone decided to kick off which lead to us being delayed 1 hour and 20 minutes. Now we are back at the gate waiting to take off again."
Athletic LFC reporter James Pearce, also posted to Twitter warning fans to 'leave plenty of time' to get through the terminal. Tweeting an image of a queue snaking out of the terminal, he said: "This is the giant queue outside to be able to join the massive queue inside for security at @manairport Absolute shambles. Any LFC fans flying out to Lisbon, leave plenty of time!"

It comes after a shocking video was shared online showing passengers jostling for space as they went through security checks. Travellers expressed concerns that 'someone will get hurt' as the images showed staff struggling with the amount of passengers.
Last month bosses at the airport said passengers could face queues for 'several weeks’ after admitting they are struggling with staff shortages. Manchester Airports Group (MAG) said they have also struggled with the easing of restrictions as well as a large number of bags being rejected at security. spokesman for Manchester Airport said: "We apologise to passengers whose experience at Manchester Airport has fallen short of the standards they expected. As we recover from the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, our whole industry is facing staff shortages and recruitment challenges.

For those who still seem to believe that chaos only reigns at Manchester Airport or who only want to publicise the problems here, a couple of examples from elsewhere:

This afternoon
Birmingham Airport 'chaos' as holidaymakers face huge security queues
Mayhem is reportedly unfolding at Birmingham Airport today (April 4) with huge security queues, delays and risk of missing flights. BHX has been described as "hell" by holidaymakers over the last few days.

And at LHR today:

Passengers at Heathrow Airport are stuck in long queues as staff shortages continue to cause travel chaos.
Furious customers at the west London airport have complained about delays at passport control with several e-gates out of operation.
Travellers also reported delays at check-ins, believed to be caused by problems recruiting workers as well as Covid absences.
Terminal 2 at Heathrow is said to be at “near capacity”, with passengers reportedly unable to enter until at least three hours before their flight.

That's as well as flight cancellations in the last few days by BA causing added misery.

And just to reiterate what Llandudno has stated several times: - this is not to excuse what's happening at MAN where urgent action to resolve the mess and to start to restore the airport's reputation is imperative.

Well it seems to be the only airport that’s getting all the publicity at the moment so I think people have their rights to be annoyed. The fact that they are looking at getting the fire crews and police in to help shows that things are that bad. Whilst other airports they have their issues they don’t seem to be in as bad position as MAN.

These issues are not new here either as it’s been ongoing before covid

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
