Must be due to closed road borders across Europe, so essential cargo deliveries have to go by air

I notice we can expect to see the military using the ILS approaches to BHX with Puma helicopters while the airport is so quiet during the period of this Pandemic. They will follow the approach until they break cloud and then head directly for their respective Hospital with Covid-19 patients.

I did hear what sounded like a heavy chopper but unable to see it in low cloud.

A Puma did do a missed approach at BHX last night. Interesting that they are already practising it. Can never be too prepared and I suppose its good training for the RAF pilots whether they use it in the planned scenario or not

I get a lot of military traffic here in Worcs., Gliderpilot is correct, new RAF crew need to know BH X in same way as CASEVAC did during operations in Afghanistan and Iraq flying in soldiers to Selly Oak and latterly QE hospitals.

Down to just 42 arrivals - with only 12 between 0600 and 1200. I guess heading down to circa 6000 passengers a day mark now....?! A far cry from 30,000 plus seen this year
