So, spotting trip went well.

Still able to choose parking space, so went closest to path so I didn't have to stagger too far, lol! Was quite busy to start with, but people weren't serious spotters, just out enjoying the weather. Chatted to three people in just over four hours; not always about aviation. Must try weekend as one lady said it had been busy last Saturday.

Saw Air Dolomiti "in the flesh". Usual suspects; KLM, FR, Jet2, EZY, Loganair, Emirates plus a few bizjets and the Bin Air Metro.

For those interested in stats, of 30 movements logged only 8 were new sightings.

I also wondered why Air Malta had landed at BHX instead of EMA. Perhaps someone will provide explanation,...

Forgot to add to my report on yesterday's spotting trip.

Routine patrols by BHX Aviation Security within perimeter fence. They always drive slowly, one did stop and look in general direction of Country Park. No Police/PCSO presence in park itself.

Only one shifty looking character, on a trials bike. Seemed more interested in "making an impression" with the assembled audience than committing a crime. Don't know how often Council empty bins/tidy area but there was some potential FOD. Luckily it wasn't windy. No, I don't fancy picking it up without gloves!

TUI 737 G-TUKO holding from TFS - any idea why?

Brussels Airlines has just departed and an easyJet has just landed so can't be anything to do with the airport, and weather's fine.

Could be an instrument reading so they entered hold to work checklist. Or something on runway; you know what BHX is like!

Maybe someone listening to ATC and aircraft will shed some light. Will have a look on Aviation Herald later to see if anything is recorded there.

according to another aviation group I belong to G-TUKO had a brake issue and was met by the fire service on landing.

Jet2 738 G-DRTR operating LS1832 Heraklion-Bristol diverted in at 23:35, due fog at Bristol, and 2 Ryanair 738s have just diverted from Bristol to Stansted!

Feel sorry for the poor passengers being coached back to Bristol from Stansted! nice long journey. :(

Emirates evening service starts tomorrow at twice weekly bringing them up to nine weekly, along with the PIA news this week slowly slowly building long haul up.

Also being looking on the P&O website and BHX flights with TUI to Bridgetown showing from end Nov but at a reduced schedule to previously.

Turkmenistan would be nice!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
