Good idea to park the Air Tanker A330 over at the terminal to give the armed services veterans a high visibility and more public send off to the Invictus Games and also decent publicity for BHX.

I haven't heard any news of the England football squad using BHX to fly to Europe for the international game this weekend. That has been the trend over the last few years.

Common sense to use R33 at 5.55am and wake more or less half of Birmingham up .Even though winds are 2MPH towards north

Ant, see Birmingham Airport regulations section 6:-

6 Use of Runways

(a) Preferential Runway.

Runway 33 will be selected as the preferred runway for departures and arrivals when the runway surface is dry and the
mean surface wind speed as displayed from Runway 33 anemometer site is 5 kt or less. Aircraft requiring the use of
Runway 15 must advise ATC and state that is for operational reasons.

I thank Matt for his input, saves me from the bleeding obvious, Runway 33 is the default for operations given the prevailing winds and that UK has strong southerlies on the most rare of occasions. The original planners for Elmdon aerodrome decided thus one suspects.

The original Elmdon aerodrome 06-24 was the main runway, but due to the railway/a45 and high ground, when it was deemed not long enough the longer runway could only be 15-33

Is that not the return flight for the England fans, who flew out on ENT 545 at 07:00 Saturday morning? The England team will most likely fly back to Glasgow for the Scotalnd game on Tuesday?
Unless they have a small training session at St Georges on Monday or Today and then fly up on a Loganair or something but I highly doubt it. Probably straight to Scotland and then presumably from Scotland back to BHX then the players make there own way back. Does anyone know If Harry Kane, Bellingham and Henderson got Private Jets from Munich, Madrid and Damman to BHX although Kane might have gone via London to visit Family before maybe getting a car to St Georges. I didn't notice any Private Jets I don't think.

The England football team flew direct to Glasgow from Poland after the game last night.

A C25 business jet few into BHX from Madrid on Monday afternoon departed to Luton next day, maybe carrying Jude Bellingham (speculation)

The England U21 are playing in Luxembourg this evening, could be the reason for the KlasJet 737 tonight. Sports charters especially the England national football teams provide some interesting acft into Brum with St Georges up the road.

Pampering the U21's with private jet travel now, lot of money in the game even for the youngsters.

Wouldn't Bellingham be with the team in Glasgow Kick off Is 8 I think so depending on what England do after the game debrief in Glasgow or St George's he may fly back from Glasgow

Bellingham flight situation:
There are no scheduled flights from Glasgow tonight or tomorrow.

There is however a flight from Edinburgh at 9.25am tomorrow morning and a flight from Birmingham at 12.45pm

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
