Whilst MIA is disappointing TCX have never got this route right. Instead of a short summer season, have you been to Miami in the height of summer, it should be a winter destination with a premium economy cabin instead of the Air Tanker. They brought low yields on themselves

I agree MIA could have been a great winter route. A few cruise contracts might have boosted the flights too.

MIA just seems one of those routes MAN just can't seem to get right.

Airlines serving MAN are generally quick to pick up on northern summer seasonal opportunities.

They are less quick to pick up on winter seasonal opportunities. MIA and CPT are two of those.

I wonder how far TCX are from trying a South American route. It would be fairly niche for a European carrier, which they like, but I don't know if Condor fly to South America (TCX and Condor seem to fly to the same long haul destinations).

GIG has the be the most obvious candidate. I can't imagine anything is imminent, but it fits the TCX business model (particularly if they keep picking up transfers from Europe).

It will just be taking them down in preparation for the official announcement

It is pretty much the same thing TCX did around a year before launching SFO...

User, do we have any update on the potential new Thomas Cook routes e.g. announcement dates?

Had we picked this up before?

JFK-MAN NOV 0.4>0.7
MCO-MAN NOV 0.4>0.5

Reallocation of MIA capacity?

The JFK look like 4ish weekly if I've worked it out correctly from that fraction. A few 4 letter words may be expressed in one or two airlines boardrooms as this may appear to be the start of the "limited" business class.. I doubt it would be that be worthwhile to do if having a limited frequency in winter time whereas operating 4+ weekly and it becomes a bit more useful to those business travellers not wrapped up in a frequent flyer programme.

Who fancies Lapland in June? Currently 1 weekly flights on sale with TCX on Mondays in June! Bizzare!

With the 'gaps' still in place and no sign of the rumoured TPA, MSY & SAN service announced, i am wondering if they may be tempted to hold off more new routes in favour of boosting JFK to almost double daily should AA confirm their withdrawal of JFK next year.

I'm not sure what's going on with TCX, I think they may be waiting on confirmation of aircraft before announcing new routes, to which they have done this before.

Reason I say this is because LAS is back down to 5 weekly and BOS back to 3, to which they were added to the timetable,e and removed again, just like FRA-LAX/SFO were, so, I wonder if someone jumped the gun. We also have routes like Tunisia going to be put back on sale, and moving bases like STN/BFS to a leased aircraft, which shows S18 is far from done.

For an airline like TCX, they have until about mid-November to announce S18 routes, so, I personally wouldn't worry about routes until then.

In terms of JFK, I would certainly hope a 2nd daily is on the cards, they have captured the market and run away with it, a 2nd daily would cement that place.

Thomas Cook will relaunch Enfidha 1 weekly from 13th February, rising to 3 weekly from May.

A couple more odd flights have appeared in the GDS.

As yet no schedules, but I can see Colombo, Sri Lanka and Manaus, Brazil have been loaded for outbound only. No inbound services yet showing...!

TCX will add a 2 weekly Dubrovnik flight from May 2018, on Wed/Sat. It will also add an extra weekly flight to Split,

W18/19 timetable PDF is now on the website but just MAN-MCO and LGW-MCO showing so far.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
